Any ideas for an Ultra Hi .65 flintlock pistol?

    Try 45 grains of ffg black powder and a .640 patched round ball.

    Why not do it the way it was done "way back when"? Hold one of your hands flat with th palm up. Place the round ball in the center of your palm. Then pour the black powder on top of the bullet until it mounds around the ball and just covers it. The result will be the pro
    Remove the ball and pour the powder onto a piece of paper or suchlike. You then can load your Gun. If necessary, you can pour this into a powder measure for future reference.
    You can tell you have a proper load by the sound of the gun when it's fired. It should sound like a loud crack, not a loud "Boom". A boom indicates too large a chargeof powder.

    Steg is relating an "Old Wives Tale" - never done that way - guaranteed to be an improper load - do it and check it with a scale against a valid recipe from a load book. loading for firearms is no place for irresposible advice.
