What would be considered ballpark amount. Having trouble with loading second shot and thinking I am using too much 2F.

75-100 of double ff, up to 120, 80-100 is more than enough to kill out to 100 yds.

I have been shooting my Lyman .54 for many many years - I only use black powder - usually 90 gr or 3f but 90 or 100 gr of 2f when I have it ( round ball )- accuracy seems a little better with the 3f. When I elk hunt I use full patch slugs and 90gr of 2f. I have used the same loads by volume of pyrodex and they are ok too. I always wipe the bore between shots with an alcohol soaked patch and a dry patch. Aids accuracy and ease of loading. At the end of the day I clean with a brush and patches and alcohol, then oil the bore and wipe the ouside. - my gun is pushing 30 and looks like new.
