This is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
Set time aside to watch this very informative video on the inner workings of a submarine. Hard to believe that a fist sized lump of uranium will give all the power needed to run a submarine for over 20 years. Power to make oxygen, and support all the electrical needs of the entire ship and crew. And that means under water for 70 days.
Absolutely fascinating!
Imagine a fist-sized lump of uranium doing all of this.
We really are in the atomic age.
This is an inside video on how the USS Pennsylvania (an Ohio class - the largest) works.
It is a nuclear powered submarine powered by a lump of uranium the
size of your fist that provides all of the power to navigate and provide power
for all of the daily operations.
The USS Pennsylvania has been running since 1989 without refueling !
Ever wonder how they get fresh air under water to last for months?
How do they launch a nuclear warhead?
This is fascinating!! Take time and view all of it!

Did you see that the "launch orders code" was ALWAYS handled by 2
officers at the same time, the 2 even keep their fingers on the card as it is read.
Great vid !!

That the PRP (Personnel Reliability Program) used for special weapons. Two people must be in close proximity to be able to see each others hands when in the presence of (1)the weapon, (2)the arming, or (3)the releasing (firing) or any device that controls it.
if we didn't live in a world full of crazy people we could use similar technology the size of a baby aspirin to power automobiles
I have always thought nuclear power was the answer to sustained flight as mass travel....
Thanks for posting.
Cost $2.9 Billion each. {thats like 3000 millions}[:0]
I sleep better at night knowing they're out there
and that would be bad guys know they're out there as well.
I've seen that video before and NEVER get tired of watching it. [^]
