My Dad carried a Thompson in WW2, he would tell us that he would carry the sling long so he could step on it and help keep the weapon from "walking". he also taped two mags together. Co.C. 17 Armd. Engineers, 2nd Armd. Div. 1942-45.

It ain't cheap. Cost $60. to shoot both guns. One mags in the Thompson. One belt in the MG-42. It was over QUICK!
My father who was w/the 1st Marines at the Chosin Reservior, had told me since I was a kid that ideally you shoot mechine guns in short bursts. To keep from overheating/shooting out the barrels. (something they couldn't worry about at the Chosin).
But I was mainly just trying to make my money last ALAP.

Camera-woman/my wife. It was the 1st time we used our cheapie video camera. Not the best, but ok for 1st time. I give her another chance. [:D]

I shot my first auto Thompson last weekend too. I agree, it is over too quick. Too bad (most) of us cant take them home with us!
