We were letting the kids play in the creek today (Im not telling anyone which one [;)]).
We were within a mile of where the creek dumps out into the Alabama river. Some guys come up on their kayaks and start unloading. They say they pull catfish out of this creek every week that weigh 20-30 lbs, the biggest they have got are 40 lbs +/-, and this one they think is around 53 lbs.
We measured it and it was 46" lip to tail tip.
I know what Im doing this weekend.
Sorry for the sideways pics, I saved them upright.

how much he weigh? 42-46 pounds?
The guy holding it said it felt like 50+ pounds, he based it off of the 40 pounders he has caught.
That is a big fish. [:p]Is it okay to mention "big fish" now [?] [:0]

Still too soon. Give it another week.
before they return to the river.
Be a shame to take them all and not save some for the future.
