Purchased rental property in 1991 and next door behind my properties was a 1969 Nova SS. It was complete back then but not ever for sale since its owner didn't come back for it. I asked when I first seen it if for sale and then about 5 yrs ago. Not ever selling. Well today I seen someone loading it up , the car was a mess..no glass in it, rusty floorboards and in my opinion would have been a big money pit to restore if possible. I ask if they would sell it and got a yes...but no title. Vin on dash was also rusty. So I passed. But I do remember what she looked like a long time ago.

I see lots of old cars around here, out by the barn, rotting away.
"Wanta sell it?"
"Nope. I'm gonna restore it one of these days."
or
"It b'longs to my son and he says he is gonna restore it."
Just rotting away.... Sad.
Some people will let things rot in their yards, because ,"that was my first car", "that was Uncle Bill's". Whatever. It belongs to them. Que sera sera.
have also seen the other side, they saw one on tv go for tens of thousands and think their rusting piece is worth the same price.......
Owner never came back from Nam. Mother getting old I reckon it was time to let it go.
Those old cars draw at your heart strings. My buddy in college had a 1969 Trans Am, one of a few hundred made. It was in great shape, matching numbers, price $2,500 but he didn't have the title. I had to pass on that one too.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
No pics? Did that year have a Powerglide?
350/300hp 350 turbo column shift bench seat. Car still had original tires and stock SS wheels, emblems and matching number engine. However it was in beyond rough shape.
About seven miles from me a guy set up a double wide and he parks some construction equipment there. He also parked a red Avanti II there on a corner near the road. The car looked pretty good just driving by. That was two years ago and there small trees growing all around the car now.
I tried to buy a 1970 Nova SS from a local mechanic several times=Not gone sell it . After a few months the Nova was gone.Wheres your Nova?=Claude at the machine shop bought it.I went by Claudes shop and ask ,Wheres the Nova you bought from Larry?=I just wanted the engine and sold the rest of it.
