We recently sold our house on the edge of town and have moved into a small rental that is pretty much smack dab in the middle of town. I'd gotten used to and expected to see deer and even elk in the yard at the house we sold. Well, not five minutes ago as I'm sitting here in my comfy recliner a nice 4 point muley meandered down the sidewalk and across the street. Yes, he used the crosswalk! He's in rut and I don't believe he's thinking as clearly as he could be...
Sure hope no one's little kid tries to pet him!

Now he just needs to find the town hoe....I mean doe.The blacktail rut is almost over, but there are some big 'uns out and about.
Well, there was this one time at band camp....😉
Drove back from SC a week ago (back to Wi.) and just could't believe the number of dead deer along the roads😉
i've 3 generations of mulies staying within mere feet of my place year round. they know the routine of people that put food out for them and are quite predictable on where they might be at any given hour. old doe, younger doe. each has baby/ies. old doe has twins[2nd fawn off to the right out of view.]
Me too. Drove from Raleigh NC to Atlanta and I swear there was a dead deer every mile on I 85. The state animal of SC is a dead deer on the side of the road.
While I was driving Ricci called me. I told him about all the dead deer and everytime I passed one I would say "one more".
Sounds like he's thinking clearly to me, using the sidewalk and all.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
