Looking for information on small business firearm lists
Hello,
I currently run a company that in the past has focused on international defense, UN etc tenders for weapons, ammunition etc.
We are looking at branching off into the civilian side, due to access to production lines opening up with some of the manufacturers we work with. We are predominantly looking into ammunition and reloading supplies. We are currently in the information gathering stage/mid stage (new Corp formed, logistics & storage hammered out, form 6s etc submitted and waiting now)on launching the new venture.
I was wondering if there is a organization that small business firearm shops are part of that would allow us to gage interest in imported ammunition. We have the contacts for the medium to large corporate big box stores, but are trying to find the best way to get infront of the small businesses in the industry as well. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

It is a shame the 2021 Shot show has been cancelled as that would have been an excellent outlet for meeting smaller retailers. Perhaps you should look into the NSSF. I think they still put out a newsletter to all of their members.
Best of luck. Bob
Yeah covid19 isn't helping anything. We originally had planned on being up and running Jan 2021 at this point we are projecting more of a Apr timeline at the earliest. The various industry shows being virtual or outright canceled has been and will likely continue to be a huge issue for us as far as contacts, marketing etc go.
If you are going to sell ammo, PRIMERS, cases and powder it is a no-brainer to get the imports coming in as fast as you can, like yesterday. There is a HUGE lack of reloading components now and the shortage is projected to last until 2022 and beyond. You could sell right here on the GB Auction side and do quite well with well placed advertising and exposure for your products in magazines and online retailers.
I don't know of any organizations like you are seeking but someone here may have better information to help you.
WELCOME TO THE FORUMS! Stick around and have some fun.
As far as reloading supplies go, our amount probably won't be anywhere near sufficient and that's mainly due to the berdan being used primarily where we have sources and access too. We currently have access and agreements for only two factories that have the capabilities to do the more common boxer primers and such that the US is used too. But barring their government doesnt put out a abnormal request, our agreement right now is for a majority of their 21 & 22 production totals. The wait at this point is going to be on the ATF and customs clearances/holds.
I have been dealing with an LGS since 1971. They normally have a very good stock- new, used, consignment firearms, and multiple varieties of any ammo you want. Stopped in Saturday. I own more handguns than what they had for sale. Their ammo stock consisted of 6 boxes of .380 FMJ, and 4 boxes of .45 ACP Ball. If you have a source for .380, 9mm, 38 Special, .357, 40 S&W or .45 ACP, there is an incredible demand for it right now. ONE of the major ammo makers said they have a backorder for $1 BILLION dollars of ammo right now.
Bruce brought up a good point about the ability to buy reloading components. But from my perspective, it seems that the majority of people buying new guns probably don't reload, and could really care less about what type of primer is in the ammo, as long as it goes bang when they drop the hammer. If I were in your shoes, I'd get all you can and sell it here on gb. The way I see things, the sun is shining, so it's time to make some hay there fella, so get after it... Oh, welcome to the nut house too..
Bring in massive amounts of .223, .7.62x39 and .308. You'll sell tons.
