What's For Christmas Dinner?
Here, the wife and I will finally be enjoying the frozen over-sized turkey I bought before Thanksgiving.
Yes! It took that long to thaw the massive bird following the directions of placing from freezer to refrigerator!
Just a little kidding there but that trick never did work the way directions say it should. I did put the turkey in the fridge on Sunday and found by Wednesday it was still harder than a brick! Got out and dusted off my BIG cooler and submerged it in cold water. Thursday morning after a good 24 hours it was finally thawed!
Anyway, that is going to be our Christmas dinner this year and along with the pork sausage stuffing made from a recipe from my mom, the eats should be quite tasty!
Love to know what you all will be dining on this fine Christmas day! And hope it will be a Merry one for each and everyone of you!

Doesn't anybody eat chinese anymore! Don
Prime rib and baked potatoes here also. Along with stuffed mushrooms and the old green bean casserole.
not even the chinese.........
What ever my Niece is stirring up. Fortunately most folks in my family are good cooks and that includes her.
Traditional here, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, green bean casserole.
Possum shank BBQed with Baby Rays, day old crusty bread, love that, creamed corn, carrots, steamed and Pabst.
We'll be spending Christmas day at home alone just like we did last night. Last night we feasted on frozen chicken fingers and french fries. At least today we are thinking of upgraded to breaded shrimp in the deep fryer.
Yes Don. I will be cooking stir-fry tonight. Al
Seeing this little possum pic from Australia, makes me think of that ole cartoon "Fievel Goes West" ☺️
Son is cooking steak and baked taters . All I have to do is eat . Life is good.
We have a prime rib in the oven right now. That and twice baked potatoes for supper!
Jon
Great minds think alike, Jon. Evidently you and I do too!😋
Got an 8 pound prime rib getting set to go in the oven in about an hour, Capt'n Fun style.
I've gotta grate some cheese and do up the bacon for the 2x bakers.
Merry Christmas, everybody.
Let's meet back here this time next year!
Perkins for the turkey and dressing.
Prime Rib
Pictures or it never happened?
Beer Butt duck, & fixins,
It turned out great!
We had leftovers with eggs for breakfast this morning too!
Neo, cheers! How did yours turn out? I'm thinking this will be a new tradition for the wife and I.
Jon
The meat was phenomenal (looked pretty much just like yours!) but my 2X bakers didn't look as good as yours. They didn't get browned on top. Did you hit 'em with the broiler for a minute or so? Our plates aren't near as fancy either!
We sent 3 plates of food up to the police department last night for the two officers and the dispatcher that were on duty. One of them texted my wife and said he was about to go into a meat coma after his big ol' slice of prime rib. Gonna take a pumpkin pie up today for 'em.

This is such a great idea! We should pay more attention to our officers and firemen.
Best.
OK :
Had HAM and all the fixins @ a Buddys house for Christmas :
A much better way than spending home Alone on Christmas !
Thanks !!!
I Grew Old Too Fast (And Smart Too damn Slow !!!) !!! :?
The wife made them the night before and reheated them in the air fryer. It crisped them up nicely!
That's awesome that you brought meals to those serving us. I imagine the appreciation that made them feel. What a great idea!
