9mm Luger and 90 grain bullets...

What are your thoughts? I've got 1000 FTX 90 grain bullets that I'd bought to reload .380 but just don't shoot the .380 enough.
WIll these do OK in a 9mm Luger? They'll primarily be shot from a Glock 17, 19, and a 34.
I see Hodgdon has some loads shown on their website.

According to my loading books - yes. They generate some pretty high velocity's - 1400 fps. Always possible a particular brand of handgun may not function reliably with lightweight bullets.
I shot 1,000 light 380 FMJ's loaded in 9mm, they did fine. I used 1/10th grain below book max with Titegroup powder, they fed and shot just fine.
Are they .355 dia or .356?
Gottta go measure to be sure... Be right back!
.355". Too small for good 9mm Luger rounds?
I did just pick up 1,000 Berrys plated 115's from a guy on GB yesterday. (Merry Christmas!) so will probably concentrate on using those.
Got a favorite load you'd like to share Warbirds? I've got CCI SPP's and Titegroup aplenty, and reams of once fired brass.
These will be used in a Glock 19 and a 43X (wife's Christmas present!). She's also got a Ruger LC9 she will run some through.
Before too long I hope to have a 34.

they show several loads for .355 90 grain bullets for 9mm luger that should work just fine if you don't want to save them for the 380
.355 is the standard diameter for 9MM jacketed bullets. From my experience .356 tends to work best when shooting cast bullets.
Thanks guys. When/if I get some time I'll try loading some up and we'll see what happens.
Sounds like they'll be screamers!
90's may be a problem in the G 34. It can be finicky about light bullets. You may have to have a couple different springs to test and find the right one to get it to cycle dependably. Good luck and have fun!
Any results yet on these bullets? I think the idea of a 90 grain 9mm moving really fast as a potential option for carry gun. Especially in a full size barrel.
Haven't had time to do anything yet. Trying to get packed up and moved to Montana!
