Exactly how many ways ARE THERE to send over a copy of an FFL!? Why try so hard to be so difficult!

I tell you people...you think I'm kidding, but I'm pretty sure there are a gazillion ways to send over an attachment. Only five of these ways actually works for normal people that aren't computer experts.

I don't know why we cannot get everyone on board to just attach a simple link that can be printed?

I'll be printing the FFLs out that are emailed over.....printing about 20 effortlessly, when I'll come across some nonsense that prints either too small or too large. Getting sent links to websites is a crap shoot, maybe you'll get an FFL, maybe you'll spend 20 minutes reading things before you find the link that is supposed to get you a copy of their license (but doesn't.)

I don't know how many copies of FFLs I've gotten that I couldn't print without actually downloading it first. I might have a million different FFLs saved on this computer right now because I never go in and clean that mess up.

    I agree 100%

Take a pdf scan or picture...done!

Had one the other day that someone loaded a picture into some WordPress document or some crap. Probably took like 20 steps for the guy to do it, of course only prints the left half of the FFL. Spend a bunch of time playing with it.

Some of the crap we get sent. Even Gunbroker's FFL ON FILE only gives easy to print ffls half the time, other times my guy has to save it into ms paint to shrink it. I'm sure its how the people uploaded it not Gunbrokers fault.

I think some people think they are being "cute" with the way they send FFL's.

At the day job, any given day we send out 2 to 5 email copy's of the stores FFL. We receive about the same coming in. In the past week, had one come in that was the size of a postage stamp when printed. If you expanded it, it be came unreadable. Then there was the picture of someone's FFL, they held it in their hand and took a picture of just the number and sent that. I called them and said we needed the whole FFL. He told me that he had done 10 buy / sales today and no one complained about his FFL. OK.......... I asked, "So what address are these other non-complaining people sending the guns too? 'Cause I ain't sending any gun with out a clear copy of a FFL."

We get hard copies packed in with transfers that are so poorly printed, faded or messed up, that they are unreadable. Do these people not understand that that piece of paper is their business, or are they just stupid or do they think that by making some one else's life difficult, that it makes their life better.

And............Why does Ed's Guns just send a print out that says," The ATF says we don't have to send our FFL." No other place sends that we have ever received.

Past few weeks, we have had 3 different customers come in and set up transfers. We get their info, sellers info and an email address. We send an email with the info with an attachment of our FFL. Next day the customer calls or stops in and says that the seller hasn't received the FFL. We verify the email and check the "sent message folder". Then in front of the customer we send it again. Next day, guess what? So, we call the seller and reverify the email. Then we find out, the guy is using his smart phone to do his emails and his SPAM filter is set on MAX. I have to work hard at running a computer, I ain't very high tech. So my question is are these guys using phones to do emails, do they print out a hard copy of the FFL or just leave it on their phone?

People, it ain't hard to do things correctly, but sure makes it hard for the other guy when you don't do it right.

50 Ways to leave your lover and 50 ways to send an FFL. Some right, some wrong.

I send them as an attachment to my e-mail to the seller, but probably some software does not play well with other programs thus the problems you see. We do not all appreciate the world according to Bill Gates or Steve Jobs.

I think some folks were told, "your Iphone has more computing capacity than the first space capsule", so they figure that they don't need to use a computer. The problem is, the iphone uses a completely different operating system than PC's or Mac's, & photos are taken with a different format. So, we end up speaking different languages.

Even if you have a cheap computer, you can easily do basic things. And, a $100 4-in-1 printer from Costco will work great for you; you can scan to PDF or JPEG, attach the document to your email, & you are done. I can understand why the occasional buyer doesn't want to spend the money, but, if you are in business, maybe you need to hire a tech to set up your computer.

We have six computers, three printers (two 4 in 1, one laserjet, and one thermal label printer), two phone lines, just recently went from using a T1 line to being able to just use Uverse for our internet. I still think of ourselves as a small outfit compared to what this could be if we stepped things up a bit. I have my brother who is a computer genius remote in through team viewer to help with with some silly issues we have from time to time....like now, our backup isn't saving things like it should, so I plan on asking him to check it out for me. If I actually knew more about computers I might be dangerous.....but at least I know enough to be able to send a document to someone without it being a total nightmare for the person I'm sending it to. :)

I made a paper airplane out of my C&R FFL but it wouldn't fly .... Until I put an airmail stamp on it.

Couple hours later my dealer called to say, "Got it."

I can't believe they misspelled "Pork and Beans!"
