Accountability in Government

rgnot3rgnot3 Member Posts: 28

There is literally no accountability. I think it will take term limits for Congress & the Senate so they dont get too cozy. It should be on a national ballot and I am sure it would pass. Too many of them just keep getting fatter and fatter on our dime and they all forget the reason they were elected.

We also need to pass a law that they cant pass any legislation that they exempt themselves from. How in the hell can we allow these weasels to get away with screwing us over for so long?

They should also not be sending any money to foreign countries until they take care of Americans first. Why should my tax money go overseas to countries like Palestine, Pakistan, etc. all countries that hates the USA? Since this country is financially hurting how is it we have the ability to send our tax money to other countries?

Unfortunately, the people that need to be term limited, are the same people that would have to pass the law. So fat chance.

There is a legitimate legal question as to whether sitting legislators in DC could enact a term limits law.

A state term limits Amendment in Arkansas was overturned in 1995 on the grounds that an individual state cannot impose qualification requirements upon national office holders that are more stringent than those in the Constitution.

A term limit law, even a Federal one, would result in inter-generational legislation that does the same thing, and may require a Constitutional Amendment.

If you think its bad now, just wait until the DEMOCRATs get control..... and they have the media to do all the lying for them.

What would serve us better is a more properly educated electorate. Term limits would throw out the good with the bad.

It may also get rid of the extreme bias these two parties have against each other since refreshing them more often with new people would tend to limit their animosity and grudges they seem to hold onto. All of the history pre-bias' them so they never start from neutral ground. Even if they have extremely different views on how the country needs to be Governed at least we would see dialog instead of hostage negotiations.

That is a wrong decision that needs to be overturned.

The constitution only grants powers to the feds, not restrict the states powers. If it is not written that the states are forbidden from enacting additional requirement, then it is not law.

If a senator must be a resident, so be it, the state cannot change that. If the age is 35 minimum, the state cannot pass a 25 but most certainly could pass that they must be 45.

The speed limit is 65, you most certainly can do 60. But if there is a minimum speed of 45 then you must do between 45 and 65. Same goes for the requirement of age and duration.

If the limit is 6 years, well, to shorten that, they must follow the rules outlined. It is the states right to determine who goes forth as a representative,

It's as if the court ruling says once in you're in for life, which is not true. The states get to hold the elections for their representative. The fed say you cannot send a child. But they don't get to dictate how many times you put the same candidate up for the job, thus they do not have the power. That is most certainly a state right. Supreme court got it wrong.

Now the state cannot banish a woman or black person, that is enumerated in the constitution, so they have the power to overide the state on that one. But if I don't want blacks or women in my home, I most certainly can. If I want to murder them, not so much, but defend myself most certainly.

There is a separation of power that is lateral and vertical. That little fact seems to be forgotten. The Federal government complex is trying to destroy that structure by by fiat. We the people need to stop them.

    This is so simple.

There is no accountability in Congress because that is the way Congress wants it.

There is huge expensive bureaucracy because that is what Congress wants.

There is no accountability in the bureaucracy because that is the way Congress want it.

There is no accountability for crimes because that is what Congress wants; (see Hillary Clinton's server)

Its not a question of what congress wants. We know they screw us at every opportunity. Its a question of how do we the people deny them what they want?

Defeat the two party system by starving them of money. Get big money donors exposed for their buying Congresscritters. The cash these scum Elected Masters make while in office, both (D) and (R) is insane. The number of public service Senators can be counted on one hand. In Congress it would take two hands. On SCOTUS, three maybe four actually can read the Constitution.

We deny them by MASS open noncompliance to their edicts. We deny them by nonviolence, across the board refusal to comply with their BS. We deny them their power to control us at their whim. WE WILL NOT COMPLY!

That is how we win. Martin Luther King and Gandhi had a lot of faults as humans (don't we all?) but the idea of not complying and not being violent can and will win in the end saving our Republic.

I am not optimistic this will be how it turns out. I see more of a French Revolution type nightmare. That scares me for my Grandsons and their future.
