I am about forty pages into a book tilted Iron John. It's about training boys to be men and it's not recreational reading, at least not for me. I can read a page and I need to stop and think about what I just read and what it means. Very interesting. Needless to say, it stresses the need for strong male figures in a boy's life.

Executive Orders-Tom Clancy
The Armageddon File by Stephen Coonts. A novel about cheating in the 2016 election. It has a thinly veiled cast of characters, like the ex first lady, ex secretary of state with a sexual pervert husband, who loses to a political outsider. If you have read any of his books then you will know that Grafton and Carmellini are fighting the establishment as much as they fight the bad guys. Bob
Excellent read!
Mr. Clancy was a very gifted writer.
Someone gave me the game of thrones books . I’m not a fantasy fiction reader but so far really enjoying the stories .
Agree Neo, there’s a big difference between his early solo works vs. later ones with co-authors. It’s the same with WEB Griffin’s early books vs. when he brought his son on board.
Next up is a re-read of “Once An Eagle”, excellent leadership lessons.
This one and one from Alliant.

I thought I was pretty tied into the future of defending this country until I picked this up over Christmas.
Excellent read.
I am reading posts on Gunbroker General Discussion.
Same!

I read that series while in rehab recuperating from my hip replacement last Dec. Those books are some great reads.
Appalachian Fall
Interesting how they tracked certain carbines around the battlefield by picked up shell casings and comparing the primers.
Please elaborate with a synopsis of the theme.........

Every other year, I marvel my way through the 21-volume "Master and Commander" series by Patrick O'Brian. This is an off year and I'm reading the "Longmire" series by Craig Johnson.
Started the Foxfire series this AM.
A friend convinced that I should finally read Lonesome Dove. About 20 pages in and do not yet see the point.

You're going to enjoy those. Really interesting stuff!
Yes they are very interesting. I have the first 9 books. I keep looking for a bargain on the last books in the series. Don
Camino Island, by John Grisham.
If you run out of other ideas...
Read them many years ago.
Many of the stories and info were gathered from folks in the WNC area.

Start with Baggy, but not late at night.
@Rocky Raab I forgot you are an author. Need to peruse your tomes.
All kidding aside, I'm a voracious reader. Had to switch to a Kindle. I was running out of house. Lol. I'm on a K. Patrick Donoghue kick at the moment. This is the first in a new series he is writing. First pic is my Kindle cover.
I love cruising the used book shelves at Goodwill, etc. I have managed to find almost all of John Sandford’s books. I also pick up a Nelson DeMille novel occasionally.
Rereading Michener's Caravans.
Susie, my books do come as ebooks. For reasons too tedious to explain, they happen to be in different formats, but most readers can use either one.
