I have seen many post of surprise finds of forgotten ammo guns reloading and so on items and thought how is that possible πŸ™„

I truly thought I was immune to such as I have a decent memory but decided to look thru my 22 lr stock pile maybe sell some of it ( and did not make it that far in far as I happened on this going thru tubs and boxes to sell items while prices are crazy and and being a border line hoarder .

but tonight I ran across a few ammo cans of ammo of 9mm , and 5.56 , I had set aside from some long forgotten on line sale and lost track of not a huge amount but enough to be embarrassed I had lost track of

Welcome to the club! I started an excel about 10 years ago to keep track of inventory. Still, every once in a while I'll find something that's fallen between the cracks. It's like Christmas again. πŸ˜†

It's too late for me, save yourself.

and next Easter, you can hide your own eggs............πŸ™„

Once found 10 bricks of .22 that had been pushed back on my workbench, had something covering them up. Maybe I can put them in that box.....

No, THAT box was a case of 9mm.......

I'll just sit over here quietly until they come to take me back to the Home...

My friend was never interested in AR type rifles unit someone let him shoot one in 6.5 Grendel. He’s started to do his own build. I was going through some ar magazines and found an stripped upper receiver I don’t remember buying.

Since i didn’t remember owning it, I just gave it to my friend.

I stumbled upon 200 rounds of Federal 7.62X51 FMJ I thought I had sold at a gun show a couple of years ago. Guess I 'll keep it now!!

Yeah, I found some stuff while cleaning and organizing the safes over Christmas break. Not necessarily forgotten, but definitely misplaced. 😚 I uncovered a case of 223 HP, some boxes of 17 HMR and 17 mach 2, and a couple boxes of 22 Hornet.

Sooo, I bought a new Savage model 93 bolt action HMR. Then ordered a Bullberry Encore barrel chambered in 22 Hornet. Now I'm on the hunt for a Mach 2 rifle.

You guys are lucky, my mind usually works(?) the other way. Recently a friend needed some large rifle primers. I have not reloaded this century but still have scads of supplies. I had noticed long ago a 5000 box of Federal LR primers under a workbench covered with other stuff so I dug it out to get him a few hundred. It was empty! I guess I loaded them all, but why did I save the empty box? Right beside it were 2 boxes of 5000 CCI SR primers and they were full.

When I was a kid I remember an old great-aunt who was always misplacing stuff and claimed the neighbors were taking it. Later on she would stumble across it and exclaim 'Well, I see the #%$ thieves brought it back!'

I found some old bags of shot on the bottom of the pile that didnt get cycled. I used one and the pellets were all corroded and dusty. They didnt load too good, and i had to wear a mask. Any good way to clean that hot up before loading it?

good question I ran across some boxes of prelubed T/C maxi ball's the lube had dried and breaking up the lead was turning white from age corrosion maybe from the lube I hate to toss any thing out I did my best to clean them as they will be just used as fodder to play in the back yard with but would be interesting if there is a way to clean old lead bullets or shot being cheap as I am I thought there must be a way of course just tossing them would be the easiest maybe the best ?

Just run the shot in a tumbler OUTSIDE and then use compressed air(carefully & with a mask) to puff the dust away. If you happen to have steel shot laying around mix that in and remove with a magnet. The lead shot may not fly quite as true or pattern as good as before but it's still useable. You can even sprinkle some graphite powder in the tumbler after puffing away the lead dust and end up with decent flowable shot.

I quit relying on memory 20 years ago. Too much stuff to remember. I make lists and inventories so my memory isn't called into question. Anyway, I haven't had the pleasure of accidentally finding buried treasures on my bench or under that bench or stashed away in corner somewhere. However...

If any of you find that you have an abundance or over supply of ammunition or primers, please keep me in mind as a source of sale. 😁

    Best.

I have done the same nononsense and have been very big on keeping lists. Only problem......now just where in the heck did I put that darn list! πŸ˜‹
