Just for the record

I've drank cheap coffee and liked it. I've also used cheap holsters, shot cheap guns, ate at cheap buffets, bought cheap beer. I've drank cheap whiskey and ran around with cheap women, which buy the way can be a lot of fun.
I wanted to set the record straight so I didn't confuse anyone. A snob I am not. Of course if I visit your place I expect top shelf.

It is customary for the guest to bring the host a gift, like a bottle of wine to go with dinner. Considering your purchasing habits, ya ain't invited!😁 Bob
The only way that cheap women are worth it is this , "which BUY the way can be a lot of fun"..............
There is a wine store in the east end of Louisville, which is generally the better part of town. Being in the medical field I dated several women from that area I had met at work. When they had me over for dinner I would ask ahead of time what we were having then drop by this wine store and ask what wine would go with what ever they had told me they were cooking. I'd always show up with the right wine for the dish. It worked well.
MD 20/22 and Boons farm were top shelf (great combo cheap and easy to buy when under age ) when I was a kid and we were headed out for the night LOL
It used to be a guy could write a pun or two into a post and it would take awhile for someone to notice. Now we're so educated on the matter not much gets by. But you only caught one, do I still win?

I'll just leave this here:
Peach cobbler, ha ha.
A good cobbler made from fresh ripe peaches with a little heavy cream would be good for breakfast this morning.
Thank you SCOUT5 hadn't heard that song in a long time and it was always one of my favorites, mainly because it hits very close to home.... no dixie cup for me though, long neck bottle, can or cold mug/glass my preference.
You're welcome

My Dad made the best peach cobbler in the world. We had peach trees and he used our peaches and made the cobbler in a dutch oven outside with wood coals. He could flat out cook on a dutch oven. He liked to use our canned peaches instead of fresh, he thought they were sweeter.
When going out to someones home for dinner... I invariably brought along a freshly made Banana Creme Pie, always gratefully received and consumed that night !
Yep, peaches canned at home when the peaches are ripe are way better than the canned ones from the grocery.
I think you're absolutely right. Canned are sweeter but I still enjoy the taste of cobbler made with fresh peaches. Fresh cream or even better with some homemade ice cream right out of the churn. YUM!
Best.
When I was a kid we made home made Ice cream in a hand cranked ice cream maker. When Strawberry's were in we made strawberry ice cream, blue berry's....ditto peaches Oh man!
We had several pecan trees and my Mom made the best pecan pie. Pecan pie with home made ice cream.............Oh man oh man. That would make you slap your grandma.
Speaking of pecan pie, when I was a teenager we had a 200 acre pecan farm, with several varieties of pecans. My mother made pies that almost always won blue ribbons at the county fair. They didn't need any ice cream or whipped cream to help the taste. My wife uses my mom's recipe, I can founder on it!!!!
"They didn't need any ice cream or whipped cream to help the taste."
No one was intimating that ice cream or whipped cream was necessary to 'help the taste'. Additional components simply offer another range of flavors to the original, no frills versions. Just like canned or fresh peaches, we like them both but they offer a different flavor and texture.
Best.
Hot pie (or cobbler) without ice cream is like cake without frosting. Some are accentuated by it, and others it's a detractor.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Most people don't know it but Wal-Mart stocks a pretty good selection of wines at a great price. Here are their top 12:
Don't forget about Night Train.
and Fred's favorite drink,, ripple...........
T.J. Swan was my wine choice. It cost 1.99 a bottle and was worth it. Don
My late wife loved home made peach ice cream. She once screwed up and said she really liked the "chozen frunks". We never let her forget it.
