Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

LOL. Weapon Mounted Light. What kind are you using, if you are using one, and why?

I don't have one on my CC pistol but I do have them on my "House" guns.
TLR-1 on a G30sf. It was kind of cheap and they work.
I run a Small LED flashlight that is really bright on my Clone Colt 733 and a Wilson Combat 870.
I like a weapons light but you have to have a good balance they can be too bright.
I forgot if you have one on a gun make sure you shoot the gun with on at night if possible. This will familiarize yourself with what shooting with a light is like and it will ensure your weapon and light work together.
Good points @Sam06

The lights I use are for hog hunting I use nitecore with a green filter
When it is dark, I am in bed reading or sleeping.
I have a TLR-1 here on my desk that I use as a flashlight to check rifle and shotgun bores. My Glock 20 has a Surefire, I think a X300.
muzzle flash
Great, you just shot your family because you wanted to illuminate the area with muzzle flash.

Surefire (older one ) built into the forefend on my 870 , I have C.T. laser light on my xds 45 and a C.T. copy that came with the pistol on the xds 9mm , my colt AR is a surefire also ,
then assorted Chinese's knock offs on a few others guns but would not trust my life too them ( of course if pressed into action no choice and better than none ) but back yard varmint shooting or wasting ammo there fine .
just me but never actual experience as many of you I am sure have faced but I would think having a light would also help the other side locate draw fire to you
It has to be tactically deployed, for sure. But to not identify your target in the dark is a bigger problem.

TLR-1 on my handgun TLR-RM1 with a pressure switch on my carbine.
TLR-1HL on my G23 and Sub-2000.
Streamlight Scout on the M2
I have a TLR-1 on a G17 my wife likes when Im traveling. It works.
TLR-3 on the home defense pistol.
Don't know off hand, I have had it on there so long. Will not go in and see right now, because I don't want to take the chance of disturbing her, when she is sleeping. Some will understand how ugly that could get. LOL
Always got by with a dual fuel coleman.
I don't think you understood the question.

Update....
Ok, I looked today. It is a H&K MKII Universal Tactical Light.
Why, because it was made for what it is on?
So I can see what I intend to shoot. NOT the family.
