Sunday's Game

cbxjeffcbxjeff Member Posts: 17,642 ✭✭✭✭

While I quit renewing my season tickets (that I had for about 20 seasons) back in 2012, I'll probably watch the game. Sure I hate to see all the political things but years ago the gansta behavior and crazy contracts started to soar me on the game. Having said that, I'm interested in betting on it. Personally, I'm giving TB the points and taking the over. I've said a few times on other posts that I'm not a betting man so if anyone agrees, bets the same, and loses don't blame me!

It's too late for me, save yourself.

I’ll be watching it from work Sunday night. Somebody has to go to WDW as the winning team this year is not.

I think I will clean windows and leave the flashing noise box off.

@cbx, yea, it would seem to be the obvious bet which means trap bet BUT I think it is a solid bet this time. Have already logged in with Chiefs -3 which I think should be at least -4.1/2 so I believe in it at -3.

i have watched one Super Bowl in my life , the new girl I was dating took me to her friends house to see it. The football sucked but the party was interesting . That was 30 years ago . See no reason to start now .. if you haven't figured it out I will not be watching

used to be a big tampa bay fan, haven't watched a game in 5+ years, I'm a guessing it won't hurt me to go to 6....

I've only bet on two football games in my life, both superbowls. One was in 1985 when the 49ers beat Miami, I had the 49ers and odds, silly fellow thought Miami and Dan Marino couldn't be stopped. I told him they were going to run into something they wasn't used to, he asked "what", I told him "defense". It aggravated him and he told me to put my money were my mouth is and ended up offering odds. Okay, how much can I get? I won 7500.

The other game was the next year when the Bears beat the Patriots. I actually gave 7 points and took the Bears against a guy that was convinced the Bears weren't as good as touted the Patriots were better than people thought. IIRC it was a 100 dollar bet.

Both private bets, I've never bet sports through a book. I don't bet sports and other than these two games I've probably never had a bet with somebody over 10 dollars and those just friendly my team is better than yours type thing.

I have watched every Super Bowl since the beginning and I will watch every one till I die.

I love the game, always have. I agree that I could do without the political/racial BS but I love the game, not going to let any radicals (from either side of the fence) ruin it for me.

I swear, some people would stop wiping their behinds if Charmin took on a spokesperson that you disagreed with their politics.

Focus on the game, the game play, the play execution, the coaching strategies and try not to get hung up an race or politics.

bull you are entitled to your opinion same as I, and when the players put politics over play I will refuse to watch, that is when it isn't about the game anymore but about the politics, and as per the charmin, yes I would go to store brand if I disagreed with their politics..

That Tom Brady is a pretty good QB.

I didn't even know who was in the stupid bowl until a few days ago. I haven't watched a game in years(25) and will not be watching it this year either.

Like Nunn said the entire NFL could cease to exist and I wouldn't know about it.

The game is the game, it's the ten minutes BEFORE the game starts that everyone disagrees with, hell, just don't watch that part.

There is no politics or race issues during the game play, just football.

hillbille, I respect your opinion as I do others, I just don't understand all of them.

I'm a baseball guy, not a football guy, so I won't be watching.

I went to the Ice Bowl in Green Bay and watched the people from Dallas come in light clothes and leather shoes, and sit on the half walls in the can with their feet in the sink. Now on my 56th anniversary I dont know if my wife will let me watch the game or not?

Spot on David as usual. The NFL is fully engrossed in DEMOCRAT party dogma. Openly disrespecting the flag and the men who fought for it has not only turned my stomach but turned me against all politicized professional sports.

The state of Michigan just recently opened the doors to legal online gambling. Just about every third TV commercial is now some fancy cool dude way to place your bet on your smart phone. The other two commercials are still either Joe Namath pushing Medicare options or the My Pillow guy.

All pretty sickening if you ask me. Anyway, I figured this is a good place for my rant and just to get back on subject, I would rather shovel snow than watch any football.

  • dreherdreher Member Posts: 8,893 ✭✭✭✭

I wont watch any of the pre-game anti-American BS but about five minutes into the game I will tune in and see if it is an interesting game. If the game goes as I think it will go, I'll be in my utility room loading 44 mags in under 15 minutes, maybe less!!

My prediction, {worth exactly what you paid for it!!!} is the Chiefs in a romp but if Tom Terrific can pull one more rabbit out of his helmet watch out. Over the last 20 years betting against Brady in every game he started in would have put you into bankruptcy court!!

Last game I watched was in 1982. Can’t say that I’ve missed it.

It's the way our country is going my friends. Used to have big Super Bowl game parties here at the house. Just lost interest "for some reason" and it's really too bad. But it is what it is🤨

  • nutfinnnutfinn Member Posts: 12,808 ✭✭✭

Been living in this country about 30 years and I can honestly say, i have never watched entire Super Bowl. I have watched some of them commercials thou 🙄

I am hoping it quiets the bidding on a few auctions I have my eye on ending tomorrow night.

I would attend a super bowl party if I enjoyed the company, but mostly indifferent.

i never watched any ball game my entire life , I went to one HS football game for about 30 minutes to meet a girl that was 45 +years ago ( so no not last week )

then about 10 years ago I would watch the stupid bowl just for the commercial's as a lot of $$ and some funny stuff came out of it , then I just started watching them on the internet next day avoiding the game altogether

from this weekends game my wife told me from what she read people are mad because the white quarterback won and they should have allowed the black QB to win because of black history month ? dang white privilege's if true just another reason for me to not give a crap about there games

JHMO no game ,sport ,no players , no entertainer , movie star what ever , please just do your thing , play, sing , act , then go home and share your personal feelings on the internet , not at some event we paid to go to or turn on the TV or radio to enjoy and be hammered with your political views . again to me any way it seems like every one of them once popular magically over night they gain some super human skill of knowledge on every political event and how to solve the worlds problems and want to impose it on the sheeple , sadly 99.999% there views and propaganda always on the left and so far out of touch with the real world

I agree D-R. I didn't pay much attention to organized sports until some of my pals were playing in high school. Fast forward to '58 when I went to UW Madison. I was introduced the the Packers and started to follow the NFL. I was a fan of all pro sports for decades. I went to St. Louis Card's games back when it was Sportsman's Park and White Socks a game with my son in '72. I had season tickets for Indy Colts tickets and Bristol NASCAR tickets for 20 years. I have them no more. It all started with TV and naturally money for the players . Salaried went crazy and also ticket prices. Then became the kneeling, ruining the national anthem, and general political correct policy. It was fun while it lasted. Nothing lasts forever.
