Electric Cars........an interesting encounter......
I can not argue with your 2 cents....Normally I would reach out to someone I thought was in trouble. The attitude, although maybe just a cover set me back from reaching out. She was munching on something and had a lunch bag in her hand. I guess I might have handled it differently but I went with my instincts and left at that time........
Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.
I think you might feel differently if you found her siphoning gas out of your car to put into a generator to charge her battery.
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Some will die in hot pursuit

Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

Until a battery powered pickup can tow my trailer as far as my F-350 does, and can do it without having to go two hours forward, one hour stop, two hours forward, one hour stop the whole way...I'll buy one.
I see lots of teslas sitting at the McDonald's parking lot at Cabezon, Ca. charging up because they can't go from LA to Palm Springs. For running about town, great. For leaving town? I'll pass.
I for one applaud the young lady "IF" she was only doing this as an emergency measure. The rest stops in a lot of areas do not have the best reputation and perhaps the look she gave William81 was more of a defensive measure. I don't know why she was there with no juice in the batteries but it could have been an emergency trip of some sort and she needed to get where she was going post haste and this was the only vehicle available. Unfortunately a lot of people that spend the big bucks for an electric vehicle can't afford a second more conventional mode of transportation for unexpected long distance trips. The buck or two worth of electricity won't be missed and she wasn't inconveniencing any one to any appreciable degree. This is just my opinion and those that disagree are free to do so, ain't America great? Bob
for those folks who see nothing wrong, what if you had come back out of the rest stop and she had a siphon hose in your vehicle and was taking a few gallons of gas??? it is only a few dollars, or what if it was a man instead of a woman?? or if you owned the vending machine, that is money out of your pocket. many variables but I agree with others stealing is stealing, let it be a million or 10 cents it is still theft

220, 221. Whatever it takes.
Me and extension cords don't get along, even a short 6 ft. one I can get it all tangled up. I can't imagine having to deal with one a 150 ft. long 🙄

I cut people some slack during emergencies. I would have asked the gal if she needed any help.
We all have sisters, wives, and daughters and know we would hate to have them stranded somewhere. Just my 2 cents on this post.

I bet she had the heater on too while munching away in the car.......drawing more power out than she was receiving from the charge......😀

Stay safe.
If the woman driver was Ricci's new crush she could simply carry the car on her back when it died.
It is always a little more personal when folks are stealing your stuff . . . instead of the other guy's stuff.
Visiting Key West Florida a couple months ago, I could see having an electric car as a 2nd vehicle to just use around that key / island.
Otherwise, until they come out with quick change battery packs, it is not viable alternative.
