I saw an article in the news that was funny but sad

It was an interview with a 10th grade History teacher and he stated; The kids he teaches believe that D-Day is a rapper, Helen Keller was a raycist nazi and they don't know who Hitler was.
I find that really hard to believe but I suspect it is true.

Unfortunately. “Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it.” Winston Churchill (His version of an earlier quote from George Santayana, 1905.)
And Coca Cola says you need to try to be less white.
News is only new to the new.

That is pouring like an avalanche

Ken you have a troll. Its not me but I admit I did do it a few times to mess with your head, now its kinda silly like a mask.
My granddaughter is in the 10 th grade. She is falling further and further behind due to covid school closure . History is no longer a priority of the school system . They now focus on diversity and racial equality and indoctrination into the socialist belief system . I feel that I am fighting behind trying to even the playing field .
What is sad is people today are really kind of ignorant IMO. I barely graduated High School and worked in a gas station for a while. Then I joined the Army and was an Enlisted man getting out after 25 years. I read a lot and kind of self educated myself. I have been all over the world and seen many things most people don't.
I have interacted with many different cultures in many different country's.
The diversity taught now is not really diversity, its a form of raycisim IMO. It seems more like a self hate and a feel sorry for people indoctrination pogrom(yes I used that from on purpose).
I have no children but I do have nephews and I worry about their ability to think for themselves and come to conclusions based on experiance and not what is taught to them by teachers who have a world view the size of a micron.
rant over................drive on.
That is why...we as parents and grandparents are so important...We have the life experiences and old school information to help keep the children grounded in reality...JMHO...

Amen, Grunt. This website is a great reminder of our influence on our kids and grandkids.
Ex wife was studying for her Masters final to get her teaching degree. She asked me if we fought the Japanese in WWI or WWII. When I could see she was serious, I asked her "what day will live in infamy?" Blank stare. Okay, then what happened at Pearl Harbor? Her: "The Japanese attacked us, was that WWI or WWII?".
This is why a High School Valedictorian can't pass a college entrance exam.
I have seen them do street interviews and ask basic history questions even government questions current events
nothing . so many stupid people or just do not care to me sheeple just lined up for directions from there masters and the next check
Seems the history teachers isn't doing their job so well.
Reminds me of watching Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure with my kids back in the late 80's.
Q: Who was Julius Caesar?
A: That salad dude!
Those answers back then were meant to be funny! Not to be taken seriously at all.
Rather than continually ridicule the historically ignorant, we should engender and adopt an attitude of willingness to educate when we come across these folks. And once they know better, then laugh at them for not having known.
