Gun owners contributing to loss of Second Amendment?

What have you heard from fellow gun owners on gun control? I don’t like what I’m hearing. Far too many are willing to give up on semi-autos (“assault weapons”), universal background checks, and other key issues. These folks apparently don’t understand how throwing in the towel on these issues cripples the 2A. Your experience?

Agree. Have a good friend that lives in the woods hunting something year round mostly shot gun and 7mm mag rifle. Thinks no one should own a semi automatic "assult" firearm. But then he is a d-------.
Many gun owners are what are known a Fudd. Butchdog2's friend is one. They DO NOT believe in the second amendment, they are good with legislated access to firearms. They are on these forums too.
Some people just don't get that if they take one.. they'll take another..then another..then another..till they are all gone.. and you can't tell them any better..I guess they will just have to learn the hard way..
Floyd621 these are the same people that think the 2nd has to do with hunting....
Yepp.. wasted effort trying to talk to them..
Most folks don't know the meaning of the second amendment.
Way more than the right to keep and bear arms.
No. If you don't talk to them then you can't educate them. You have got to keep communicating our point, if you don't then it just fades away.
When they just laugh and walk away shaking their head it gets kinda hard to keep trying..
Then there are the ones who say or do nothing when the opposition is at the door with new anti gun proposals. There are probably more of those than the ones who voice their give in positions.
Ask them what kind of vehicle so they drive. Is it capable of going over 85mph?(no need for that since speed limits is US are under that). Does thier vehicle have 1,000 + HP? Again, no NEED for that. Why not regulate all vehicles to 85MPH and less than 100 hp? No need to go 0 to 60 in less than 15 seconds. May examples of things not NEEDED, but people want them because they CAN. And none of those are PROTECTED by the constitution!
Better yet, ask them why, when DHS puts out for bid a select fire rifle, the item is titled "personal defense weapon" but when a citizen has a semi auto it is an "assault weapon."
