I was using Authorize.net for credit card processing and was just notified that my merchant account has been closed and funds held for up to 120 days. Has anyone else had this happen? I've had this open for about 45 days and have only sold ammunition.
"We regret to inform you that a business decision has been made to close your merchant account immediately."

they are antigun
When you signed up with them, you failed to read their "terms of service".
Same thing happens to Paypal customers.

Boom
isn't that the same as refusing to make a wedding cake.
Sue them for 100000000000000 billion :)
Sounds like exactly the same thing to me.
Well, if someone used their PayPal to pay Auth, net or the money is forwarded to PayPal...... Well your boinked
I'm aware (now) Authorize.net is a VISA company (which is anti-gun) but was curious why it's at the top of the GunBroker recommended list when setting up a payment gateway/merchant account.
I get it but anyone could be impacted by this since you don't have control over how the buyer pays
This merchant account issue is growing and rearing its ugly head. We need to KNOW who is neutral or pro-gun when doing business. Squarespace Go Daddy, Levi's and most cell companies are rabid anti-gunners.
Business does not operate in a vacuum, it is there to make PROFIT. There are neutral or pro-gun services out there available to us all. Since about 1/2 of Americans own guns we need a reliable way of knowing who to do business with even if they are not the rock bottom lowest cost. Then we need to support those businesses.
Could this be related to the "operation choke point" link that Randy posted up?
A small private business refusing to bake a cake for a wedding based on their religious beliefs and actions like Facebook and Google have done to eliminate competition and diversity may be slightly different.
In the case of Facebook it has become a "News" source for a large portion of the American population, it buys out and closes any Conservative resistance. That and their cohorts in the leftwing biased mainstream media literally pollute and prevent any differing views from being anything but fodder for getting beat up, fired and ostrichised in college, business and social interactions.
Google does the same thing, if Mom and Pop Baker were buying up all the local competition to prevent the LGBTQ community from getting ANYONE to bake them a cake that would probably be outside of fair trade too.
Zelle will do the same thing and a lot of sellers here will take it.
This is where we need to get our collective act together.
Although, much like Parler, we may not have any options available to us.
Of course it is.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
I have used VISA charge cards for many years, often buying guns & related supplies. Never heard that they were anti-gun, & never had a problem.
Yes, Zelle has a gun prohibition. But, if you read their "terms of service", they tell you to use their service ONLY WHEN TRANSFERRING MONEY TO SOMEONE YOU KNOW.
