How many times a week do you practice with a firearm?
Comments
Practice what? Don
Practice I don't need no stinking practice LOL
If they are hoarding ammo, wouldn't using some to practice go against the whole hoarding concept? Asking for a friend....
Maybe they are practicing loading! Don
I shoot my 22 every day.
Was it hoarding 15 years ago?
Never thought of my buying milsurp 30-06 at the maximum rate the CMP would sell it to me as hoarding, as I was shooting around 100 rounds every couple of weeks at the time.
Of course back then, that was just around $ 12.50 a week.

Hoarding is a way of life and has been so since Clinton. If you dont hoard, you dont shoot much at all.
My practice time has been severely curtailed. As ammo is unobtainable and out of this world expensive I am holding on to my stash . I do a very limited amount of shooting , just enough to maintain some semblance of proficiency. If and when I stumble across ammo or components at a decent price I buy . Currently stocking up on black powder supplies in order to substitute shooting it for my modern stuff
dry fire drills?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
What's your point? How many times a week do you drive your collected cars?
I don't hoard ammo, I collect it.
I became one ( hoarder ) by accident I do not get out and shoot as much personally but winter did not help that either and we did not have our back yard shoots last year with all the covid fear I was stocked up on for the friends and family to blast away with but with current prices glad I do have a few rounds stored away
I shoot a lot of large rifle and large pistol calibers because that is what I have "sufficient" primers, powder and bullets to reload. I have many thousands of rounds loaded for the calibers I shoot and have been keeping the 20 pound RCBS lead pot cooking while casting bullets.
The panic will pass, it always does but what Biden does next may throw a monkey wrench into the gears of the American free market.
Time will tell.
Shot 1-25 round of trap Saturday, was busy moving down off another field for an event Sunday. Also 2 raccoons Saturday night.
I guess the 25 were practice.
I'm not a hoarder, I'm a collector.
The Same with 22... Shot the 10mm a lot today.
I reckon if you have a great supply of ammo it can be shot.
I wanna be an ammo hoarder, where do I sign up? Would shooting require going out in the weather?
I happen to run across a couple older videos a posted a few years ago on ammo hording one in California had 10 of thousands of rounds stored away . after that I decided I am not even in the same ball park as a hoarder LOL
10K is hoarding? Uh oh.
Hello, my name is Al and yes, I'm an ammo hoarder. Lately I've been supporting the economy. Selling extra ammo in popular calibers at auction and buying less popular calibers at "reasonable" prices.
We get 10-20 calls a day for folks looking for ammo as far as 2 state away.
I've given up trying to order ammo. I do have a stash on the shelf above the desk, in the office. Every one asked if its for sale. No.... But it's probably worth $ 1,200
For me when I shoot its My Hanel pellet Rifle I can still afford that and have boxes of pellets..
Maybe an episode on Hoarders
I guess we should all be like Barney Fife.....as long as we have one round in our pocket, we will be ready for anything...😜
I have been buying 22 ammo for the last 40 years whenever I found it on sale.I shot the majority of it but still have about 70 pounds of rimfire ammo.
How many rounds to the pound ?
I used to have lots, but I sold most of it in the passed few months 😄
I shoot too much to hoard.
I am going to wait this out and not shoot it if I can't replace it.
I am kind of in the same boat. I ordered 10 3250 round cases of CMP 22lr years ago and still have plenty. The a shooting buddy left me a LOT of ammo so I am set. I reload most of everything I shoot but rimfire and I have the components to load plenty of ammo.
Be prepared is the Boy Scout motto and I adhere to it.
Just a ball park number he had at least that many in one caliber and had multiple calibers pistol and rifle in stacks of open ammo cans he called his " practice ammo " but said had another stock pile for the SHTF days but then it is the internet 😁
10k is not a lot any more I even have a few more than that 😉 . however for many years I had one box of ammo for each gun I owned, I would buy more if I was going to shoot that weekend it was plentiful and some what cheep . funny now but my dad had one 50 round box of 22lr with about eight or ten rounds missing for 60 + years and a box of 16 ga with three missing when he passed on I have them some where ( RIP dad)
How many rounds to the pound ?
That will have to be answered by someone smarter than me.
A googly search says a 22 with 40 grain bullet weighs about 51 grains so there's about 137 to a pound.
Just had a flash that the local FFl had a scale and was weighing them for sale like a butcher.
Agree DR, I don’t see where ya can have too much on hand, especially given the current political climate. At least 3-4 times a week I have friends/acquaintances trying to hit me up for some. Sorry folks, if ya didn’t learn your lessons over the past few years there’s not much I can do to help ya now.
I was buying 9mm in 1,000 Bulk packs and Sorting 100 Rds of 9mm in plastic bags. Drove me nuts counting so finally figured out what 100 weighed and used a postal scale. So much easier. But... those days are over.
I prefer the term "Ammo haver". Please respect that.
