The Petaluma City Council voted unanimously Monday to prohibit the creation, expansion, reconstruction and relocation of gas stations, encouraging owners of gas stations to convert their facilities into ones that serve electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Swell, the council is unanimously certified insane.
I move we suspend and pass on the second reading.
(City Council talk from back in my day.)
😉
There must be something in the water out there in the west coast that causes insanity!
that city will expire fast
Nope; just DEMOCRATs behaving appropriately.
Current gas stations will soon have a monopoly and will be able to get RICH, because simply doing away with new gas stations and prohibiting existing ones to expand will NOT make people BUY new electric vehicles. They do not understand that the average person cannot just throw away their gas vehicle and buy a brand new electric one. They have really lowered the for "common sense."
Nice, just gives one a reason not to visit that hole ( like they really needed a reason )
As Rush always said "Follow the money." I wonder if one or two of those city council members owns a few of those existing stations. How much did those existing stations instantly go up in value when that ordinance passed?? How much of an extra premium could you charge over the next five years per gallon of gas as people will pay more, rather than drive extra miles to fill their tanks??
"Hey, this pump isn't working."
"This station no longer sells gasoline to city-owned vehicles, sir."
"But I'm out of gas."
"Not our problem, sir."
Bless their little hearts.
The liberals put a stop to "climate change."
Move towards making gas stations illegal.
Liberalism is a mental disorder.
Come on man, climate change is the most important issue in our life time, just ask any of the stinking libtards or Royals.
I applaud their foresight and selflessness in combating climate change!

It is not a joke. They are deadly serious. They are adjusting people to use zero emission vehicles.
If electric cars fail, will they return to internal combustion? No! It will be bicycles or possibly horses, but PETA and animal-rights groups may frown on that.
I thought it funny when Rush Limbaugh explained this agenda in 1989, but it ceased to amuse me a long time ago.
Climate change is the new religion for the left libtards and its the new socialist agenda for the powerful. They know they can control the people with it and push ways to control movement of the masses. The Car is the ultimate freedom, get in and move out. The overmaster's don't want that to happen.
The easiest way to reduce global emissions is to expand nuclear energy. They have the actual solution if they want to solve their “problem”.
I said that many years ago. I thought we could all be driving electric vehicles for most of our local stuff if we had expanded our nuclear production. People thought I was off in left field because nuclear=bad. The reality that it takes power to create electric power and how much power it takes to operate our society as we know it is not understood by most people.
There you go again, trying to apply logic where everyone knows only emotion counts😏
It's great news for all the rest of us, actually. Now that Kookifornia has nipped climate change in the bud, the rest of us can now ignore it and live as normal again. Right?
WHERE IS MY DAMN JETPACK????
They are banning gas stations, and phasing out natural gas for heating in homes in business. And yet, they do not have any kind of backup plan.
If you want an interesting read, then read about the Rancho Seco nuclear power plant outside of Sacramento. Basically, during it's history, it was never brought up to power higher than 20 percent, and yet Sacramento Municipal Utility District raised electric rates again, again, and again.
After California voters voted to shut down Rancho Seco, both SMUD and PG&E promised reliable and affordable electricity to California resident. Look at the history of rate increases and rolling brown-outs in California. I guess the Green Deal and 'The Great Reset' is going to be the savior of that state ( insert green font...)

They don't need a backup plan, doing right never ends.
