I found some pics in a box today....this was in 1963, on the day of my 5th B-Day....I have a pretty good memory of some of the day. The toys were lost in a fire at our house about 2 1/2 years later.... I guess my love of the hobby started early !!!
Got any good pics of you way back when....post them if you want to share.....

Great pic, are you also a two * drinker? LOL!
Not for just over 30 years !
Howdy partner
My first deer in 1951, age 9. Got him with grandpa's model 14 in 30 Remington. And yes Davey Crockett was big back then.
Way cool, griz!!!
dang Griz it would tough to beat that photo , what a memory
I have a photo some where more like william81 cow boy hat and a couple cap pistols a black / red vest
will add sadly they were not the" have gun will travel set or Roy rogers out fit " but they were good enough to face down mat Dillon at the start of gun smoke LOL and play for hours with the neighbor kids in the summers , caps for the pistols were scarce lack of money with all us kids . so mostly we just yelled bang ( sorta like I do now with ammo prices so high 😁)
I guess I should have used the word "handed" instead of the word that means closing all your fingers together in your palms... auto sensors are really strange at times.
Awesome pics fella's! I have no pictures of my 5th birthday but do have memories of a metal Tonka truck that was made to resemble an Army vehicle. It had a canvas cover over the bed and the olive drab paint job with the gold stars on the doors. Had a neighbor friend at my party and we were rolling the truck back and forth to each other across the slick linoleum floor. One of my brothers distracted me for just a moment as the neighbor kid was rolling the truck and it caught me right in the shhhhnuts!!!!
Yes! 5 year old's do a pretty good job imitating the crying sounds made by much younger tykes! Probably the only reason I remember that day some 60 years ago. Those Tonka's were built well back then too!
