I was 17, Lynn Smith, before that I was too busy shooting NRA indoor smallbore rifle rifle to bother with women. (now decades later I still am!)

Sixth Grade, went to the Henry Ford Muasum with my entire class, It was a Connie! I was HOOKED on aviation long before that. Lynn's Dad owned a Cessna 175, he let me fly a lot once airborne. At 57 I got my pilots Certificate!

Aunt Lois, a remarkable giving, loving, caring woman. I got the call at work in Chicago in 1978, I cried like a baby at work, I could not be consoled, it was the most devastating thing of my entire life up to that point. I lost it for about 1/2 hour until my boss told me to go home and gave me the week off. To this day I remember the call and remember the PAIN that loss caused. Death of loved ones never get easier but there is more understanding behind the meaning of life for the first one because of it.
If I did, I haven't seen it. And it would be the first to ever arrive.

rode in a airplane 45 or 46 company sent me to Canada then to Japan first small plane a few years later a co-worker owned a small plane and I ask him to take my youngest son up as he loved airplanes . a lot deterrent than a huge jet 😮
about 13 my first gun my grandfather on moms side Gave us (me ) a old 22 short rohm rg revolver blue and chrome ( still have it ) I kept it with me and carried it when we went on trips mom and dad never said any thing good or bad about me having it funny now
1st funeral of a family I would guess started around six ( best I remember ) they had a wake just one of many in my early life
I was scared to sleep in the same room as a coffin and a dead guy ( a great uncle ) that was our sleeping arrangement for the night , but several more times when younger I would find myself consigned to sleeping in the same room as the coffin , a few feet away on a couch , as a kid we stayed with relative's during a funeral ( wake at there house ) common with all our families and no way was a hotel in the budget back then . sleep is a some what sketchy word keeping one eye open on a coffin all night ( too many scary shows as a kid )

learned to drive well before 10, by age 14 i was driving 150 miles a trip with my dad, going to the oil fields he worked at. i was an unpaid roustabout.. this happened twice a month for 3 years till i got my license.
family of Dad, 2 older brothers and I-age 7, were big into quail hunting. i carried a Win model 42 pump, 410 many trips, with 1 cartridge in my pocket. had to learn safe and correct gun handling techniques. started actual shooting at 8.
1st girlie action- 12, first true love 14, true lust 17. multiple experiences occurred in the wet and wild 60s and 70s
airplane? team trip college football team trip to Northern Illinois U in De Kalb illinois. SIU had 3 modernized c-47/DC3 for the short haul. 2 more flights since on jet liners..
1st real experience on death, i guess my dad's when i was 15. no other relatives anywhere close and few neighbors..
1) learned to drive? mini bike about 6, dirt bikes 8. car joy riding in the apt. complex parking lot late at night, 11 with my 12 year old brother, mom's dodge dart 3 on the tree... She found out years later why she always needed more gas.

3) rode in an airplane? 7 or 8 small prop plain, first Jet 17 going to basic training.

1) learned to drive? - When I could reach the pedals - around 8 years old.
2) first kissed someone romantically? - 8 years old. First time was awkward, but Cindy and I became a lot better at it over the next couple of years.
3) rode in an airplane? 6 years old, IIRC. Boeing 727 was gaining popularity and pilots were flying them like fighter planes and crashing them on landing every now and then.
4) shot a gun that wasn't an air rifle/bb gun? 7 or 8 years old. Grandpa gave us his single shot 22 to kill marmots
5) first lost a loved one? Grandma Betty died when I was around 12. Still have wonderful memories of her last visit.
