They are nice guns. I like the ease of changing calibers.
Sounds like April fools.
I would agree, RobOz.
Designing inconsistency into a sniper platform does not make much sense, not to mention how it would complicate training.
One would think if the Corps is moving to the MRAD platform it would be with a single cartridge, and they would not be buying the user configurable model.

We already use the 308 Win, 300 Win and 338 Lapua , Just can't see a reason to switch to the Norma mags.
Was also wondering if an April fools thing, but I didn't see any disclaimer in the article, although I didn't search real hard... so I don't know if it is a joke or not.
Right... the .308 is a short action and the 300's are long. April Fools .My Sig 300 was a long action .308 However no quick change barrel in 300 Mag would work on the action. Bolts are different .
Not so sure about this, SF.
The rifle exists in a user-configurable model:
I just don't see the US Military confusing the shooter and the supply chain by having rifles with different cartridges.

The Remington M24 is a long/standard action chambered in 308 Winchester.
yes it is however the bolt face .473 will not match up with a 300 mag or Norma cartridge.

Spent my whole life (78 years) staying away from multi-purpose tools and picking one that really works good. In the old days Pre64 Model 70 and Remington 40X seemed to get the killing job done. Guess I am just getting old.-------------------------Ray
