Something the woke crowd is doing that I actually happen to agree with. Of course, it's not for the same reasons. Frankly, it's stupid to enhance penalties because of the tool used in a particular crime. If the sentence and the length/severity thereof doesn't deter crime regardless of the tools used in commission of the crime, then that needs to be addressed in its own right.


Does the victim or their family care if they or their loved one were killed by being shot vs. bludgeoned with a hammer? Is some greater justice served because the perp. chose to use one tool vs. another? Frankly, there's typically more passion involved in a killer that chooses a knife over a gun... which is far less personal. Are we rewarding people that are more passionate about who they're killing?
