I'd eat that, but I put mine together differently same basic veggies they list, but my sauce is mayo & mustard on both buns, then pickels, onions, burger, cheese slice (melted on patty) tomato, lettuce top bun and I season the meat before grilling with salt, pepper, garlic pepper, garlic power, onion powder and season salt.
I'm like the former Dano - no need to add dozens of condiments to a good burger. I like to taste the meat.
Just slap some cheese on it, toast the buns a bit, and get rid of all the red in the meat. Give me some ketchup and I'm good to go.

I had my first sub in '64. There was a sub shop very close to the main gate of Ft. Monmouth, NJ. I had never heard of a sub sandwich until then. I've had them many places in many states since. Some are better than others. We have Subway in the Indy area and I go there now & then. I like a foot long BMT. I tell them to put everything on it except pickle plus vinegar & oil dressing. About 2 years ago I ordered one and the young girl asked me at every condiment if I wanted that and I told her "everything except pickle" about 6 times and then walked out empty handed. I went to Penn Station a few blocks away and one thing there is that they have fries. I'm getting hungry just posting this.

I like burgers
As for burgers I prefer using thick sliced grilled buttered sourdough bread instead of buns. I also learned a long time ago that cheese on a burger is nearly tasteless (for me anyway) so I skip the cheese. I do like onions but I like them fried along side the burger in the grease. A slap of Miracle Whip and a dill pickle ON THE SIDE and I am a happy camper. When fresh tomato's are in season out of my garden they are also enjoyed on my burger sandwich!
My wife says I'm high maintenance when it comes to food.
I'm a simple burger guy, also. I want a quarter pound of good quality ground beef, nice grill marks, just pink inside, no added spices except S&P. A proper bun and ketchup. Sometimes a slice of cheese, sometimes not. Lettuce and in-season tomato. Slice of Vidalia onion if I can get 'em.
For a fast food burger, I like the Carl's Famous Star - it's as close to the above as I've found.

Red meat - red condiment, good sir. Kinda goes with that wine rule, yaknow? I have enjoyed mustard on a burger, but I try to stay with something red on beef and yeller on other meat. Mayo is for cold sammiches and only cold sammiches.

I don't have to recommend a burger. Pick anything off the menu, get the biggest patty they make and prepare yourself. You're about to enter heaven. Get LOTS of napkins.

asop, a small burger and fries with a drink were 88 cents. If you wanted a lava-hot apple turnover, that would be take your 12 cents change from a buck. You learned to never bite into the fried apple turnover for at least 15 minutes or you'd incinerate your tongue - and nobody sued McD's because of it, either.
40 years ago I was out of town on a construction job and we found this little joint in Sutherlin, OR called, I kid you not, The Do Drop Inn. Best bacon/egg/cheeseburger I've ever had in my life. It was at least a 1/2 pound patty, 4 thick slices of peppered bacon, 2 fried eggs (over easy, of course!) and your choice of cheese. I went with pepperjack. There must've been 10 large Russets worth of French fries on the plate, too. I was so stuffed after eating that thing I could barely get my tool bags on to go back to work. Food coma!
You people and your pathetic 1/2 lb burgers. We were on a business trip to Oklahoma and heard about the Meers Burgers way out in the middle of nowhere. So we spent most of a Saturday trying to find it, and succeeded. For the love of all that’s holy, it was worth the search. They fill a pie pan and they taste as good as they look. Apologies in advance for the meat sweats, you’ve been warned.
I once lived a short distance from a Peppy's joint and was enamored with their specialty burger known as "The Monster". Must have been at least 3\4 pounder with a huge bun. I could grab one on the way to work (afternoon shift), eat until full at lunchtime and have enough left to satisfy the meat part of my dinner.
They were very tasty burgers but I gave them up when I came down with a very bad case of Montezuma's Revenge a good 2 years or so of being a loyal customer.

The original (as in late 1960s) Whattaburgers were that size. They ordered special "Buick hubcap" sized buns and they filled them to the edge with meat. Times change, and today's Whattaburgers are not that huge - but they're still damn good. I dote on their Jalapeno double cheese combo and it's probably a good thing for my heart that I get into Whattaburger country only about once a year!
+1 for culvers butter burger and my weekly (almost) whatabuger junior with double patty and cheese! As for going back in time, when the first McDonalds arrived in Ventura, CA burgers were 15 cents IIRC and when they introduced the Big Mac you could get it with small fries and a shake for a buck.
Speaking about the HOT fruit pies that McDonalds used to sell back in the day, those pies were deep fat fried not baked like the ones you get now. They were 100% better tasting too if you had the patience to let them cool down a bit. Probably not as healthy but hey! Most things that taste GREAT are never on the healthy list anyway!
