I like mustard

This is in my mustard drawer at work right now. The Brooklyn Delhi Curry Mustard I just tried for the first time and I like it. It is a hot spicy sweet tasting concoction that goes great on sliced turkey and chicken.

Inglehoffer has some good stuff. Besides the stone ground I also like their sweet hot. When I was a kid I always asked mom to get me some Mr. Mustard. I don't know if that is still around. I loved it on BLT's.
I have long suspected that every refrigerator in the US contains a partial bottle of French's Yellow. They may even come with one installed. My go-to is Gulden's Spicy Brown, but I dabble in all kinds. Inglehoffer's, Grey Poupon, Durkee's, Mr Mustard, and more have graced my table and I have at least three kinds in the 'fridge at all times. Some of the Chinese and German kinds can be ferocious - there's no lesser word for them. Same for some British mustards. I use and like those when I remember to apply them with discretion. Just glop them on and you may regret it!
We used to get Golding Farms 3 Pepper mustard, but it looks like they don't make it any more.
I have had mustard in the fridge so long that it just about solidifies into a brownish paste! With so many on my shelf, I tend to neglect a few that are only good for special meats that I don't eat often.
I like to take French's Yellow Mustard and make my own concoctions out of it. I will add honey and or horseradish along with a dap of Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce. Easily lightens up by adding mayo or Miracle Whip. The sky's the limit to that stuff used as a base ingredient! Best thing is that it is cheap and many times you can buy on sale even cheaper!
French's is for the unwashed masses.
Plochman's all the way!
My old taste buds have trouble discerning the difference between most brand yellow mustards. These days I pick the brand that doesn't separate into a watery clear liquid that comes out of the bottle before the good stuff decides to show up! If you have to shake it first that may be OK but I always forget to shake it.
I do like those Plochman's barrel shaped bottles though and do buy it when it is on sale.
What no grey popoun?
mogley98, I used to have grey popoun but then sold my RR.
🙂
Now that sounds just a comment that would come from a guy from Peoria😂
OK so you mostly shop at Walmart "Great Value" brand. that's OK so do ,most of us if we will admit it...anyways gotta have my yellow mustard usually Frenches (which by the way is a Texas Brand, nothing to do with the country France) but will buy the cheaper stuff when on sale! I also like the spicey brown, different varieties but usually don't use it enough to keep om hand.
I can't tell much difference in yellow mustard and frankly, some of the Walmart brands are pretty good.
Mustard, yuck, and yuck again, but then I like catsup on my hot dog.😮
Wouldn't even kiss the wife if she had mustard on her lips🙃
Mustard is the best condem,,,,,,,,,,,,I mean condiment........................................EVER
I oil my Red Ryder with Grey Poopan................................haven't shot my eye out yet.
I call foul.......
Hey asop & et al, you guys are a little rough about Peoria. Having said that, I graduated from Peoria Central high school in '58 and never went back except to visit my folks. Yes, I still miss my RR.
😀
Not just mustard either! I have always hated paying the prices asked for the name brand steak sauces. A-1 or Heinz 57 are very good but 5 bucks a bottle and the bottles have gotten smaller!
A brother told me about Wally World's Great Value steak sauce which sells for just a buck. It compares favorably with A-1.
The curry mustard sounds good. I like mustard and curry, I would think that would be good on a hotdog with coleslaw and onions.
I hate mustard . It has no place in my food
pulsarnc, we must be kinfolks.🙃
Just a flashback to an old Gene Tracy punchline here;
"Ya! And there are 3 kinds too!
Mustard
Custard
and you! ya big TURD!" 😁
YELLOW mustard is possibly the worst example of this condiment ever made.
the only possible use for yellow mustard is in cooking, never for direct contact when eating any food.
