Yep. Got my payment in the mail just now.

Hurry guys. Uncle joe needs the money!
Did mine last week. I wasn't sure what I would owe with the poker tournaments I won last year. Turns out I had sent in more than I needed to. I'm not used to getting tax refunds but I am glad to be getting some checks instead of writing them.
Was able to download my H&R Block SW and import enough info from previous year to file an extension so I'm off to mail it, I will be getting a refund as I paid qrtlys and now can take my time to finish the return later this week...
I'd be pretty upset if I got a check instead of writing one.

Same here. Been collecting that 0.01% interest since April 15th.

If I had you guys money, I would light mine on fire! 😁
Just got a Tax Check in the Mail $$$
It's from State of Kentucky, $ 171.00.
It goes in to the general house fund, no sticky fingers here.

We got ours done a month or so ago. BIG bucks back from the state and the feds!
If you add them both together you could almost buy a brick of 22 Thunderbolts. 😲 Bob
People who like getting a refund confuse me.

If I payed 11,000 in and got 1,100 back who won?
I'd say you got screwed twice.

I only owed an additional $977.00 this time. I was happy, and paid it FAST, via electronic transfer.
The $600 offset from the 2020 stimulus check helped. Even so, I had to write a check for $698. I wrote a check last week, and the IRS already cashed it. My check for the 2021 SOT (Special Occupational Tax) Class 3 was also cashed last week. They're always in a big hurry to take my money.
Wow!! That is close to a thousand clams.
I have always filed an extension for over the last 20 years or so, friend of mine that worked with the IRS told me that random audits are always taken from those that file before or by the official deadline. Since I've been paying quarterly taxes for the last 11 years as a contractor and work is sporadic especially these last few years it is hard to quesstamate exactly what I will owe, so to cover my backside I end up usually getting a refund. I try to just break even and when I was full time employee on a W-2 that was pretty easy, but on 1099 forms and having the farm as a write off sometimes you have to get creative to not owe more than you've sent in and the extension gives me time to be creative if necessary... 😄
In my case I had to estimate what my tax bill would be. In order to avoid a penalty you have to have paid 90% + of what you owe or at least as much as you owed the year before. I paid in what I owed in 2019 to avoid a penalty for 2020. The issues with the virus made 2020 different than expected so I had over paid. Most years I have it fairly close and write a check for the difference.
