Electric Truck.

I saw bumbles Biden riding around in one on the news this morning that had the ugliest wrap I have ever seen. I assume they had a life alert issued and that's how they found him.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
They still haven't perfected recycling large amounts of lithium batteries without causing more pollution than they supposedly prevent in the first place. I guess they will just let people worry about it 10 years down the road when large numbers of them need replacing. Bob
Electric vehicle technology is in its infancy now.I would not want to discourage its research as it will be more refined and better in the future.
how can they say zero emissions . how did the media convince these people electricity is free and has no emissions.
George Carlin if living... Well I just cannot wait till someone drives into some deep water and they get electrocuted...
A Barrett with a half mile stand off?
But it has to be driven by technology, development. Cannot be government mandated.
For the government to decree the electric vehicle shall be by this date is ludicrous. Electric vehicles may not even be the future. Some other technology may emerge before this is "perfected."
Somebody thought steam powered cars were going to be the future. Good thing the government didn't sign onto that!
I agree. No government involved and development will take care of its own.
how far will it go towing a trailer can i plug it into a tree at the campsite

There will be a need for gas and diesel vehicles until battery technology is as convenient as a gas pump.
This may happen, but until then, e-vehicles will be owned only by city dwellers and/or suburbanites who never plan on travelling more than 100 miles per day in the vehicle. It will happen one would think, but even with the full court press on battery technology for the past 30 years, we have made only incremental improvements towards the necessary end result. Decades at best.

I'm waiting for steam to make a comeback. 😀
Specs show 775 ft lbs of torque, 563 horsepower.
If the traction control can be turned off you won't be able to keep rear tires on that thing.
Looks good on paper.
Just don't buy the first year model.
😄
I heard that Ford got orders for 22,000 of these trucks within the first 12 hours of allowing pre-orders.
OK so now we know that there are at least 44,500 people that buy F150s that don't use them as trucks...
That range will have to at least double before it will be of any interest for me
And the recharge has to take eight minutes, like filling my gas tank.
Can you imagine an out of stater sitting around for hours in a gun unfriendly place like Kalifornia waiting for your electic vehicle to charge?
I would feel ripe to be plucked.
Waiting on the Ranger version that gets 600 miles per charge
Well F-150s arent't anything close to a "truck" anymore, and haven't been for decades. Really the last 150s you could actually work a little bit were the '78-'79 versions. They have been just pimpmobiles for a long time.
One thing that would make electric vehicles more viable would be battery exchange stations. Pull in, pop your battery out, and slide a newly re-charged one in. Until that happens, I will shy away from them.
Nope, not for me.
When dewalt or makita put out an electric vehicle, thats when i may become intrested.
my guess on used electric vehicles with battery replacement costing almost the price of the vehicle
not much of resale I will bet
I am with Merlin on this.when they perfect battery swap outs and make it as easy as filling up with gas then it will be viable for the non inner city dwellers .Folks in Iowa cant afford to be limited to a 300 mile limit
Well that didn’t take long. I have a friend that runs a construction company (electrical) and he has reserved one.
Wondering if anyone has thought about installing more batteries where the engine use to be or maybe in the bed section for extended range.
yuppies to go around town in what happens when you turn on the ac or heat ya just lost a 100 miles
Some fools stand in line for hours for the privilege of paying a thousand dollars for the latest iPhone as well. People are stupid. And just because they say they have all those orders for all those extension cord trucks doesn't mean people will actually be buying them. We have some bad times coming and I'm thinking $60,000.00 vehicles will be a hard sell in a couple of years. I remember the Carter economy.
Most folks live in the current times. Only the visionary folks can see this upcoming mess. The economy isn't in today's time.. it is always 9 months to a yr out when the things happening today start to occur. That is the exact reason I am selling selling selling rental properties...
Maybe, Merlin.
I don't know if I would want to trust a battery pack with a history I know nothing about.
If one is depending upon it going 300 miles and it only lakes it 220, what are you going to do?
