Hey, are you planning to attend the PRCA Xtreme Bullriding event at the fairgrounds in Palmer on Saturday?

As long as it’s over in time for me to get home by 4:00 and watch the Bruins in round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs!
You’re outa luck.
it starts at 4:00.
going to be a big deal. First PRCA sanctioned event in Alaska.
will be televised on the Cowboy Channel.
Grandson is entered and we are currently in Sea-Tac on our way up.

Nice photo of the great Noel Picard!! Not sure who that flying guy is though..... :-)
At least I will always have 2019 as it seems that the Blues have become the Cubs of the NHL.
2019 Blues? Then you'll remember this! Now THAT was a big boy game.
Oh man, that would be great to meet you. Bring a rain coat, we've had wall to wall sun for weeks and now it's raining. Supposed to all weekend.
If you get hungry hit up the Noisy Goose restaurant, it's right across the road from the Fairgrounds.
I stopped by the army navy store in Anchorage and got me a 3/4 length Helly Hansen.
things looking pretty soggy for tomorrow.
too bad the low cloud cover hiding all the views of the Chugach and Talkeetnas from the boys on their first trip to The Greatland.

Oh man, this is your first trip? That's too bad, McKinley has been out and gorgeous for weeks.
Where are you guys going to be tomorrow at the fairgrounds? My game doesn't start until 4 and I can always watch it later... if I run up there in the Rover it would be a hoot to run into you!
First trip for Grandson.
i been many times. Worked on the Slope off and on since early 80s.
have spent a lot of time in the Valley and on the Peninsula fishing with friends. Even got to attend a few state fairs and Rondy’s

My view of Pioneer peak this morning
Yeah welcome to “summer” we have snow on the mountain right above us and sleet coming down.
McKinley a few weeks ago from my sittin chair.
Well it was a very good Bullriding and fantastic turnout, unfortunately Riley and his traveling partner bucked off.
but we did get to hear and feel that 6.1 earthquake shake last evening.
did it shake you much?
Mule
Yeah you know it’s a good one when you hear it coming. We’re up on the side of a mountain so somehow we feel them stronger, it gave us a good whipsaw back and forth for a couple minutes.
Sounds like you folks had a great time, mule!
There is a cowboy channel? Who knew?
Channel 232 on Dish and 603 on Direct TV .
Mule
We did, both Riley and his traveling partner bucked off, but the boys had fun even though the trip was short.
if we could have stayed longer I would have hauled them down to Homer and went out for halibut or a king and halibut out of deep creek if the kings were running.
A better plan will be made for next year as the organizer Frank Koloski told us today he is going to try to work it as a two day show next year.
The stands were packed and people sitting five deep between the bottom of the bleachers and the arena fence, with others standing all around the arena where they could to see.
Great turn out, and good visit with several old friends that live "in the valley" and our cousin that lives in Chugiak.

Ahhhhh, I'm sorry I didn't see this until just now. The first King has already been caught in Ship Creek in downtown Anchorage! That or the Eklutna Tailrace are primo for early Kings.
I'm sure happy you had a good trip! Finally we had some sun for you, though it was a bit breezy. Next year let's plan in advance and I can come up and meet you.
