Last month, the Secretary of Defense issued a memo on “Immediate Actions to Counter Extremism in the Military” and chose a man named Bishop Garrison to head the “Countering Extremism Working Group.”
What does Bishop Garrison consider “extremism”?
In 2019, he Tweeted about “misogynist, extremists, other racists” and said “If you support the President [i.e. Orange Man], you support that. There is no room for nuance with this.”
So according to Garrison’s definition of extremism, at least 74 million Americans are extremists, including about half of the soldiers in the US military.

If you are talking about wars, I would have to agree with you other than RVN JFK-LBJ war of the 60s.
However as far as spending, modernizing, giving equipment to fight, no one has done more damage than Carter, Clinton, and Obama.
Also consider DEMOCRAT POTUS advancement of leftist ideologues into the General Officer and top civilians at the secretariat level rather than those who are best qualified based on empirical experience. Served under Carter and Clinton and experienced trickle down effects on readiness and morale first hand.
Other than spending and ideological leadership, consider the lowering of standards to make things fair for all based on more than 2 gender(S) Readiness and ability to fight wars is just not as important as "Fairness".
Political power has always came through warfare but the Elites in America have a vision to make all people equalized in society as well as the military. Technology is making all this possible by making it easier to participant in it without brute force being the main reason wars were won on.
