Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

If I remember it right it started out over the city wouldn't hook him up to the city sewer system and some zoning issues

That was part of it, yes. There is more detail at my link above, of course.

It was later determined that Heemeyer had shot himself in the head with a .357-caliber handgun. He lost.

His heroic acts will long be remembered and that is a huge victory.

Yep, he took shots at police that were enforcing unjust laws. Total hero.

Wow, really. I understand the man was screwed over, but to call him a hero for shooting at cops that were doing THEIR JOB is amazing. I agree he was done wrong, but not the cops fault! But he also did a LOT of wrong himself. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Yes. I celebrated by taking a doze between 12:30 and 1:30 this afternoon.

Seriously, there’s a documentary out there, somewhere. He came off as a crackpot, but I believe his cause was just, however mispotrayed.

The good old boys had his number.

Hero ? in a sense he was if he had not done it would any one remember or cared about some old guy who was walked over same happens countless times every day and no one knows there names or deeds . was he just shooting to get attention or really trying to hurt people . he could have done a lot worse and he could have locked down his door on his kill dozer but he did not

he was pushed to his limit ( as many say the line in the sand ) the town decided they wanted his land and him gone a one man protest in such a manner not a great idea but desperate people will do desperate things

he obvious knew letter writing was not going any where ,, same as all the protesters who have completely changed America culture do you think the minority groups would be where there at today if they just wrote letters to the government ,, then you think unicorns fart cotton candy

like always it took action same as our forefathers who gave up there land there riches even there life's after countless "letters to the England . there only choice was to fight

some times it comes down to giving it all to get your message across . I think a lot of Americans are closing in on the bride real quick with all our rights now being called privilege's and the select few deciding for us our way of living . not to mention all the taxes ( remember part of why we had the the Boston tea party )

as always a letter and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee

    RIP Marvin

He went down like so many Gun Broker forum members: hell bent on attracting the maximum amount of attention on themselves before their inevitable demise.

Seems his word was no good. That is all a man takes to the grave.... So he gave his word and changed it. Greed.

In 1992, Heemeyer purchased 2 acres (0.8 ha) of land from the Resolution Trust Corporation, the federal agency organized to handle the assets of failed savings and loan associations, for $42,000 to build a muffler shop. He subsequently agreed to sell the land to Cody Docheff to build a concrete batch plant, Mountain Park Concrete, for $250,000. According to Susan Docheff, Heemeyer changed his mind and increased the price to $375,000, then to a deal worth approximately $1 million.

Read he went to the Air Force at one time. The National Guard was called in.. They were going to either use a stinger missile or one off of an Apache Helicopter to take him out. Didn't need to the moron got stuck in a basement with the dozer... Hilarious.

Some Phil Collins lyrics come to mind:

I was there and I saw what you did

Saw it with my own two eyes...
