It was the dark of the moon
On the sixth of June
And a Kenworth pullin' logs
I still think this song is a thinly veiled reference to the invasion of Normandy.

Yep, a Kenworth pullin' logs....
There was a cab-over Pete with a refer on & a Jimmy haulin' hogs?
Beat you to it lol.
And eleven long haired friends of Jesus in a chartreuse micro bus!
😁 Bob
don't forget the "suicide jockey"!!
If I had a dime for every.............................!
Did CW write any other songs? Did he need to?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Actually, yes, a couple...

Chip Davis wrote "Convoy." In a most unusual turn, a year after this song was on the radio, a big movie was made about this song, starring Kris Kristofferson and Ali McGraw. These were two big Hollywood stars and this was a successful movie.
Several years later Chip began doing Christmas music with his new group, Mannheim Steamroller. What a switch!
His version of Silent Night is one of the most beautiful ever done. I have to admit, I was turned on to Mannheim Steamroller by Rush Limbaugh. As a Kraut, naturally Rush loved Christmas music and he played this song, year after year during the Christmas season.
Great to see ya post, Eddie. How ya doin'?
Doin' just fine, catching a few fish and starting to get our winter wood supply. Nice to hear from you.
