Wife and I are putting up corn on the cob . Today we did 15 dozen ears . Super sweet and out of it all only found one worm .

Looks delicious.
Early Sunglow?
sigh Real produce like that ... here in Alaska? Here's how we have to do it.
I think it is Bodacious .
Josey Wales would say "worms gotta eat to"
Every time I buy corn in the store, I think its not worth cooking/eating. No more without sampling
Start the water with a little salt and butter boiling on the stove, walk out back and pick a few ears, shuck and silk it on the way back in, drop the ears in the water to cook......best and freshest you'll ever have. 😊

Neighbor says to get water boiling, go to patch and shuck the corn, head to house and if you trip and drop the corn, start over it is no longer fresh.
Great looking corn, making me hungry.
Dang Nanuq!! I got a toothache just looking at that! 😲
Yes but I turn off the stove when I put the corn in and just wait ten minutes. Don
The microwave does a great job with no work. You loose a few kernels however.
It looks just like the sweet corn I usually raise. I didn't plant any this year.
What impresses me the most is only one worm. That would be unheard of here at the Dreher garden!! I raise good sweet corn with the added protein of plenty of worms!! 😁
I have to eat a lot of corn just to feed my worms! 😁
The Oregon coast, especially the Tillamook area is famous for their dairy products, so obviously there are many thousands of dairy cows around the area. There is a nice, quiet little campground south of town that is surrounded by fields and pasture lands. One day I was sitting in a chair drinking a beer, watching an out of state couple packing up to leave. Once they were ready to leave, they started to pull out and head down the campground entrance road towards the main road, which had silage corn on both sides. All of a sudden the motor home stopped, the gal ran out the motor home door, grabbed about 10 ears of the cow corn, ran back in, and they hauled *, probably thinking they had some great treat for their next meal. Laughed so hard, I about fell out of my chair..
There's absolutely nothing wrong with field corn, I've probably eaten fresh or frozen more of it than "sweet" garden type corn and truthfully I prefer it. Silage corn is early cut corn which is ground up stalks, leaves and ears, just not yet matured.......that I wouldn't even think of trying. 😁

We buy from an area family farmer / school teacher . Theyhave between 5 to 8 most years . They irrigate and spray for insects as needed. He has a pretty good hustle going . The corn funds his family vacations
I prefer Silver Queen. We cook it in the Instant Pot now.
too early for us but looks fantastic

Nanuq907 if nothing else its creative , looks like a "Red Green " idea
