D.C. police chief says there are too many guns in the city. Maybe, just maybe, there are too many criminals in the city. dont want to look at the problem from that perspective do we?

They have many more problems than guns. Unless those triggers pull themselves.
They also have the strictest gun laws in the USA. Politicians in DC and other large cities should be more concerned about demographics and imposing strict mandatory max sentences if they really want positive corrective actions for gun crimes rather than focusing on guns themselves.
...Way too hard to regulate people, since they have a mind of their own,,,why not just regulate a material object, and guns seem to be handy for these simple minded folks...idiots...
The road to Shambala
Sometimes I read that 60 were shot and 2 were killed.Sounds like they need to teach marksmanship.
Most of the inner city crime involves drug dealers & drug users. My wife suggested that they give shooting lessons to those poor under served folks, so that they can actually hit the people with whom they have a grievance, rather than accidentally kill innocent civilians.
Maybe that's worth a try; nothing else has worked.

Since weed is legal in DC, I thought that would mellow everyone out........guess NOT....
I bet the residents wish for the good old days with crack smoking Marion was mayor.
😕
DC should be nuked from orbit.
Problem solved.
would have to wait for both the house and senate and white house occupants to all be there at the same time........
It's hard to shoot accurately when you hold your gun sideways.
Not with the right sights!
Ah! The homeboy sights!
Sam06, I would differ in one way. The nuke must be a neutron bomb. Getting rid of all the polititions is fine but the Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson memorials, the Viet Nam wall and all the other important monuments need to be spared. With that in mind I'm all in!! 😁
The media trend nowadays is a Monday report on weekend "gun violence" and it's done for a reason. We should be aware.
FWIW, there is no codified definition specific to "mass shootings". Mass killings, yes. So what the media has done is taken that definition and applied it to shootings.
If a person goes to the home or private property of another person and shoots dead 3 people, that's not a "mass shooting" but you can be certain it will be reported as such.
We let them get away with "assault weapons" and "gun show loophole" forever, hope we don't do the same now.
JMHO
the elite do not care as long as it stays in the inner-city out of sight and no bother to there daily life but all the crime and shootings are slowly making its way into there neighborhoods and now there getting a taste of real life and now running scared but still blaming guns no one wants to point out the elephant in the room
I am cool with a Neutron bomb but it needs to be tested first. I volunteer chitacago, NYC and LA.
Just like meth and cocaine, if you can't buy guns legally, no one will have them.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
