Geez, I must like em. Despite having a safe full of them I have 15 on my watch list. I hadn't bid on guns for awhile but have bid on two of them. One I was out bid before I started and one I'll see how it goes.
I have shotguns I haven't shot yet, what am I doing?

You are simply going through a shotgun phase, as do most people.
I went through one a few years ago and in addition to a truck gun, and a few auto-loaders, I picked up a nice O/U and a couple of side by sides.
My advise is to go with the current phase until it runs its course. It is an addiction that hurts no one, and if you do not see it through, it will torment you for the rest of your natural life.

Did someone say Shotguns? Just a few. Somebody save me, I am in '37 Heaven---------Ray
i like the old ones if for nothing else but the mechanics involved. i went thru a phase of buying mdl 11-48 remingtons. i loved to take them apart, clean them, shoot them a few times then get another one and start again.
Many, many years ago I started to collect Pre64 Model 70 Rifles. Well I am no Roger Rule and did not take me long to figure out that I would have to be a Millionare to keep on collecting those things, And so, for some strange reason I settled on the 37 Winchester, a poor mans shotgun. Every time I shot dad's 12ga it bruised up my shoulder. I hated the dam thing because it hurt so bad. Over the years i have grown to love them. Maybe that is what dad had in mind, when he looks down on me. Hell, maybe I will buy them all so no one needs to get their shoulder bruised again.
Scout5, i am sorry, I did not mean to Hi-jack your thread, I could not help myself---------Ray
It is a sickness, and I have been fighting it for decades. I have all the shotguns that I need or want so I have no plans to buy anymore. However, I shot skeet at the club last night with a friend who was shooting his Beretta just like this one -
I really don't need one, I really don't.... but I sure am tempted. Maybe if I sold one of my shotguns. Nah that ain't going to happen. I already have shotguns that only see the light of day once a year when they come out of the safes to be inspected and wiped down. Maybe one more wouldn't hurt. After all I deserve it because I have been a good boy.
Did I mention it is a sickness?😁 Bob
I can't tell a lie. I confess, I have the same sickness. Maybe there is a Vaccine for it. Wait until the Dummycrats and mass media find out that we have arsenals stored away, Perhaps someday they will figure out we have the sickness and can't help ourselves.--------------------Ray
I just got a Winchester 1300 Defender. I really like it. Its light and very fast.
I must admit I am a shotgun junkie, I have more than I will ever use.
Can't tell the number of ducks I shot with my Mod. 12, 3" mag. And the 20 ga. killed it's number of doves over the years. Had a mod. 42 but was more for show than shooting!
I have 3 of those mod42 show guns and they are a hoot to shoot, at least at clay pigeons. Well I actually have 2 real Winchester and one of the Japanese made limited editions. See, I told you guys it is a sickness!😀 Bob
I just sold off an accumulation of about 38 A-5s,Model 11 Remingtons and a couple of Savage 720s.Still have a Winchester 37 in my workshop to keep the squirrel population down.
The current prices will curb your habit.
When Remington restarted, one of the two guns that they tooled up for was their 870
Okay, I didn't know Savage had put out a 555E O/U that has ejectors, not only that they are making it in 16ga. Now they've had this out since 2019 but I'm slow to find out things sometimes. I love a 16ga. I'm going to have to go and put my hands on one. Less than 800 new.
The only 16ga I have right now is a Lefever nitro sxs made by Ithaca.
I just have one, a Remington 870. I bought it and installed a shorter barrel, and an extended magazine on it, and placed it where I can get to it quickly. I would only use it for defense or if grizzly bears decided to come to Ohio and harass me.

Being a left hand shooter, my favorite shotgun remains the Ithaca 37...I purchased this one 45 years ago after a summer of working my butt off for every farmer around me....This was the very first firearm that was all mine.
I like 37's as well and have two. A model 37 has the second shotgun I ever bought and I was 14 at the time. Shot about a box of shells through it and it was stolen out on my Dad's truck. My first shotgun (one of my sons still has it) was a 20ga H&R youth model. I remember the price $27.97, I bought it when I was 12.
I bought that Ithaca when I was 16 in 1974.....the firearm and a case of #6 shot field loads was 149.00 out the door...
I take it your Ithaca was never recovered ??
Never recovered.
IIRC I bought mine in 1976 out the door for about the same $150, but only included one box of #6's.
A few 870's is all I have
While the 870 is a decent shotgun, you need to broaden your horizons Joe. There is an evil button at the top of the page that simply says "shop". If you poke that I am sure we can get you in all sorts of trouble buying a greater assortment of shotguns. Of course this is my shotgun buying sickness talking but you know the old saying - misery loves company. 😀 Bob
I have a few 870's and two Remington semi-autos .
I convinced my self several years ago yes I wanted this one or that one but really did not need another shotgun so holding steady with what I have . but basically the same with my other guns also . I just do not get out and enjoy shooting as much as when I was younger , never thought I would say that but than getting older I have to admit there is a lot I use to enjoy and now not so much , I would have never thought would get me 😥
Well I guess a new 16ga is out. Ammunition is just to high. I have a case of 2 1/2 inch 1 oz #6 shot for the Lefever nitro sxs and that will have to do if I want to shoot 16ga. I really like a 16ga 1 1/8 load for bird and rabbit hunting, but that's not happening for awhile.
I have 12, 20, and 28 ga rounds on hand for what ever I want to hunt. So adding something new at these prices doesn't make much sense.
