Found the 1935 $1 silver notes that had been missing. Did a search on worth, I'm broke again. 💔

We have some silver dollars we want to get appraised. Looked on the web and quotes are all over. Like asking how much is a gun worth.

    sorry to hear

    but that's my luck also

    some what related

I happened on a couple you tube video's I sure there is countless posted about it

from what I seen there is so many fake coins gold and silver even common silver coins that seem like they would not be worth the effort ( JMHO but I guess slave labor makes them worth the effort .. ) and there good enough fakes a lot of dealers are fooled by them . they said a lot of people have been showing up to sell what they had bought up in gold and silver , had put away for retirement or ? now trying to cash it in to find out .. nope sorry fake . they said even some experts have trouble picking out fakes . obvious there is test and tools but some at least posted it came down to drilling or scratching the coins to be sure

wow that would be a kink in the family jewels for sure .

With coins, oldlguns, and all other collectables, be careful trusting what an "expert" tells you. They are always in the business of buying as low as possible, and selling high. The vast majority of pre-65 90% silver US coins, are worth only the melt value of the silver. The spot price of silver will give you a guideline, but you always have to sell to a dealer at less than spot, and buy from him at more than spot.

These are silver notes, not coins, paper money silver certificates. They were issued as legal tender and were redeemable for silver until FDR screwed the pooch on our monetary system.

Had a guy come in the store a few years back and wanted to buy a crate of Russian Mosin Nagant rifles. We would get two or three crates at a time when I could get them. They would come in big green wood crates from Russia with I think 20 rifles in racks inside the crate. So if you remove the top you are looking down at unwrapped rifles held in place in racks built in the crate. This guy wanted to put a sheet of glass over the guns and use it for a coffee table. I had no problem with that but he wanted to give me some kind of gold coin in payment. Sorry, I don't accept gold, I know nothing about the value of your coin, and he got mad. Told me his coin was worth much more than my guns. I told him I didn't want to cheat him so go sell the coin and come back and buy the guns. I never saw him again and I was cool with that.

A friend owns a pawn/gun shop. Been in the business for over 25 years, buying and selling gold and silver. He got scammed into buying a 1 oz "gold" bar that tested good with his system, but it seems China is very good at making faux gold. He has it mounted on the wall to remind him that he isn't as good a judge as he thought!
