Went to the Dr. this morning

Bubba Jr.Bubba Jr. Member Posts: 8,303 ✭✭✭✭

For my semi-annual checkup. Everything was pretty normal. Then he asked me if I have been vaccinated for the china crud (my words not his). I told him I'm 72, never been vaccinated for anything, and I'm still here. He didn't say anything, just smiled.

It should be a personal choice.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

He wouldn't have gotten into a South Carolina public school back in the 50s or ANY other STATE l doubt. Vaccines aren't about your freedom. They are about ''MY FREEDOM''. I want to be able to go safely about my life NOT having to worry some BUBBA might infect me because of his selfishness.👿

There should be vaccine laws just as there are ''SEATBELT LAWS''

good to see your doing fine at 72 my next goal is 70 ish LOL at 64 I have doubts some days

I was at my doc a few months back with chest pain ( long story so not going there ) but I ask about the "shot" he said he had it JMHO just because of his interaction and I am sure make patients feel better about going to him . he told me his personal view on it every one is different and your genetics has a lot to do with it if you get it or how bad if you get it then smiled did not say one way or the other about suggesting it

Seat belt laws absolutely should not exist. The "reasoning" behind seat belt laws is the same reasoning currently used for other tyrannical laws and will be used for future tyrannical laws. It is the same reasoning behind wanting to tax gun owners for the cost of gun violence, wanting sugar taxes on candy and sodas, current taxes in tobacco, alcohol, and anything else that it can be used for.

My father was a doctor. When I was a kid it was his decision for us kids to not get vaccinated, not mine. My wife has a cousin that was vaccinated against the swine flu. she developed Guillain-Barre syndrome and almost died from it. She still has recurring issues from it.

Vaccines are not 100% safe. There are always issues that the vaccine can cause, some are worse than the disease that they are supposed to prevent. It all boils down to personal choice and what your level of comfort is to be safe from the virus and take appropriate precautions to prevent the contraction of that virus.

I stand by my decision and I respect your decisions. We all face risk every day and most of us come through it without a scratch. Life is a gamble from day 1, Live it to the fullest, and make the best of your decisions.

I assume that you yourself do not believe the vaccine will protect you then! If the vaccine protects you, and YOU are vaccinated then pray tell............why are you worried about someone else? If you feel confident that the vaccine works, and you want to take it then that is YOUR RIGHT. If you decide not to take it, for whatever reason, then that is YOUR RIGHT also.

I will NEVER understand how someone can believe 100% in ANY vaccine, but then still be afraid because the person next door did not get the vaccine. Either you believe it works, or you believe it doesn't. CANNOT have it BOTH ways.

My point is.....If you believe it works and are so inclined to take the vaccine, then great! But do NOT try and force others to take the vaccine to protect YOURSELF. You have already protected yourself by getting said vaccine. Why would you care, other than control, if anyone else is vaccinated(as pertaining to your own health)?

I'm not talking about people advocating others to get vaccines to protect their selves. I am speaking about people who are vaccinated and treat you like the plague if your not, because you can get them sick. Makes NO sense at all!

"Anyone that talks in absolutes is absolutely wrong."

I see what you did there too. LOL

All due respect My Gym...you are wrong. Here is the definition of a vaccine STRAIGHT from the cdc website. So a vaccine, by cdc definition will make a person IMMUNE to whatever illness. That is the CDCs definition, not mine. So, this is not a vaccine but a prophylactic some sort.

"Vaccine: A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but can also be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose."

Without getting into a definition spat, I am saying this vaccine is not a vaccine by the CDCs definition. I trust but verify most things. In the past, the CDC has never called something a vaccine if it did not PREVENT infection and spread of said infection.

If everyone in the world had this "vaccine" it still would not PREVENT infection, spread, and mutation! It MAY help you not get too sick.

That is NOT a vaccine by the historical definition.

PS I used the CDC definition because that is who is pushing the "vaccine" SO hard in everyone. All the while knowing it is not a vaccine by their OWN standards.

PSS. I mean no disrespect....honestly! I think open debate and shared thoughts is what this country NEEDS!

I had a cyst removed on my neck. Simple numbing shot, slice, squeeze, then stitched shut. On the eye lid may be more complicated but maybe not. Hopefully it's a quick office procedure and you will be in your way.

Lol. My logic is solid. The flu vaccine works great IF they pick the right strain. If they pick the wrong strain then it has little to no affect. The problem is that there are multiple strains of the flu, so they guess which strains will pop up and make vaccines for those. Flu vaccines do stop you from getting that particular strain of flu. They don't simply keep you from dying.

And I do like the bullet proof vest analogy! If you are wearing a bullet proof vest and I shoot you with a 40 FMJ(in said vest), the vest and plates WILL stop that bullet. So, why would you want ME to ALSO wear a vest!? My wearing a vest would help you ZERO! Just sayin.

I have faith in SOME vaccines(very very few), but those are real vaccines(polio). The covid shots, I have ZERO faith. I fully understand the MRNA portion, and that is why it is being pushed SO hard. Gotta see what it does. They have been dying to test MRNA for decades but the FDA would not even allow a small study in humans.

It failed horribly in mice, so now they use it on humans. I think everyone should educate themselves but the media and the govt make it TOO hard to have a desinting opinion(they either don't tell it, remove it from the web, or try to label you as a nut).

IMHO these shots(because the are not vaccines) are simply a test study.

Also, I hope neither of us are ever shot at!

Guess he is not in the open debate crowd, seems he just wants to say his piece and that's all that matters.

I refuse to take a "vaccine " that hasn't been FDA approved.

Last time I was forced to, by the USMC, it gave me a rare form of Lou Gehrig's disease.

Hmmm. I thoroughly enjoy all the side effects. Would have rather died in the sand box.

  • bundybundy Member Posts: 206 ✭✭✭

When you get the vaccination do you have to sign a form stating that you give up all rights to sue if it causes any side effects? Are the lawyers that constantly advertise for people to join a law suite if you took some drug and later developed a side effect just waiting to start their law suites?
