I was at a show in Tampa two weeks ago and saw the same thing. Agreed!
But how else can they check the lowest internet price too make sure that they aren't paying too much Steve??? Agree, people really are going down hill IMO..
one of many reasons why I don't do shows,,,
DON'T TRY TO SELL YOUR ITEMS FOR 200% MORE THAN I CAN FIND THEM AT MULTIPLE ONLINE RETAILERS!
That is all.
Please, for the love of God, wear deodorant.
Get out of the middle of the isle to visit with your long lost friends, go find a corner or go outside.
Some of us like to move along. Been to 1 show in the last 2 years if that tells you any thing and I use to never miss one for at least 150 miles.
Quit Hawking
Neoblackdog: The Iphone is the new religion of the world. Whether at a gun show, or the grocery store, or driving down I 10 at 55 mph, please don't interrupt the ceremonies of the new religion. Members of this cult must always worship their new phone.
I am a Luddite. I don't go with these fancy new phones I go with the old fashioned ways.
I was at the show in Kalispell this weekend and I don't know how many times I had to dodge what was usually a muffin-top millennial with their damn phone blocking their view of the world. Look up, look around, and engage with people, not your screen!
Powder and ammo prices were spectacularly high but I did find a nice VR82 shotgun for my wife that was at a price point I couldn't beat elsewhere (sorry GunBroker!) and picked up another well built Kydex double mag holder made by Talon Retention Systems (a local outfit) for my Glocks.
I almost pulled the trigger on a Holosun HE503CU to put on a 10-22. After looking at the prices for it online I should have done it. He had everybody beat at $205.
The main word of the title that gets me is etiquette. People are losing, and some have lost all respect for others. This effects every aspect of human existence it seems. The more "connected" people think they are, the less they really are.
Tech is a great thing when used, but when abused/overused, people lose the ability to disconnect. They need to spend time in their own minds or simply to pause and enjoy the world around them. It drives some people crazy(ier) when they can't see what everyone else is doing when all they have to do is look up from their screen. If something happens and the world goes dark, they won't know what to do.
I am in the tech industry, and I am on call 24/7/365. I rarely get called anymore after I have gotten safe-guards built in, but the fact that I can't just leave it behind is annoying.
@bambihunter it's all about their personal freedoms & entitlements. The heck with everyone else.
Also, have cash.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
When I spot someone walking toward me focused on their phone I like to stand in their path and let them walk into me. Being 6'5" tall helps as they glance up from their phone and find themselves looking at the middle of my chest.
The ending on that commercial killed me!
Our generation needs back surgery and hip replacement. Their generation, in about 10 years or so, will be seeking those types of surgeries for their thumbs!
I sell at a show every weekend. If not on a phone they are scanning the table to show someone on it whats on the table. Mostly for straw purchases. We can spot this like crazy
The next one I go to, I'm gonna bring a bunch of shoe laces to swing around wildly and maybe throw some rubber washers around.

Coming down the mountain
They are looking for jerky
Gun show organizers maybe should pick venues with steps and/or large pools of water. The entertainment value could be priceless.
Maybe some 'gators in the water, just for chuckles?
