I was at the range on Saturday, which is rare since I prefer weekdays (less crowded). I installed a new set of iron sights on my Beretta ARX, which then needed to be sighted in:
100 rds 5.56, 100 rds of 9mm through my P320, and 100 rds of .22LR through my AR .22 conversion unit rounded out the trip. The SIG-Sauer flip up sights are far better than the OEM Beretta sights ever were or ever could be.
Sounds like a great outing Mark...
Went Monday sighted in my 300 hamr'and 30-06 getting them ready for deer season.
Every Weds : Rifles
Every Friday: Pistols
I try to every week. Been itching to buy something new and have my eye on a Sig MPX. I can't find one locally to put my hands on to see if I like it though.
Went last week with wife, son, daughter in law and two of the grandkids. Had a great time. Was very proud of/impressed with 11 yr old grand daughter shooting grammys SIG 938 9mm and keeping in the 8 inch target.
I've fired the MPX and they're sweet. I have an MCX 5.56mm SBR and it's my favorite
All of the stocks for the MPX/MCX are interchangeable so that you can have variety of setups, including the retractable stock, which was intended for the MPX, but fits the carbine just fine.
That is next week's range trip....sight in the .308 for deer season and .223 for yotes...They should be just fine, but it is a good excuse to go put a box through each anyway !!
That's a pretty solid looking shooting rest Mark......😉 Nice stuff!
LOL. It's great for working on rifles using AR-type magazines.
I have a very solid rifle rest made by Coldwell for sighting in and bench rest shooting. Never by a cheap rifle rest. You're just throwing money away.
I have tried the sleds, and other types of rests, but still prefer rear bags (https://www.dog-gone-good.com/), and an adjustable front rest with a small bag. The solid rests, with their rear straps, always seem to mess with my eye relief with scopes above about 14X, and I have plenty of them. Don, the owner/maker is a local guy, whom I've known for a while is a great guy, who makes great products. He has slowed down quite a bit recently since his wife passed away.
Going Sat
I think you need to get on the MC and head out to a range and put a box or two through your favorite pistol....then eat a sandwich at subway on your way home....
Sounds like a nearly perfect day !!!!
Yep...shooting deer in the but with a pellet gun to keep them out of the property...😲

I went out Wednesday. I took four of my .222's; an Ithaca LSA (remember those?), two BSA's, and a CZ. I really like that old cartridge. I fired 27 five-shot groups. All groups were OK, except the Remington factory stuff, and some groups were very good. I'm running low on H322 and IMR4198. I wonder if there is any around.
The walnut trees are loaded so I have been sharpening my aim blasting walnuts with various .22 guns and hollow point ammo.
I haven't been shooting in a while, but just got a night vision (IR) scope mounted on my AR that I need to get sighted in, and a new 50 cal muzzleloader that also needs to be zeroed. Supposed to be in the mid 50s in the mornings next week, so planning to take advantage of it. I have the key to my neighbor's 125 yard range, so I'll probably be alone when I go, I can take my ATV there to get out to the far targets easily. I miss the smell of "cordite". (remember that stuff?)
Had a great time yesterday shooting the 10mm at 100 yd targets
Lucky you! Man I never knew how much I missed shooting or anything else for that matter until I've been confined to our house taking care of my sick wife this past year and 4 months. It's been over 2 years now since we've been shooting, fishing or hiking or doing anything fun. Going to the pharmacy on average 3 times a week is the high point of life these days.
My boat registration and trailer tags came due to renew this month and I told my wife I would just not bother renewing them this time. She told me to renew them because she's not giving up and she plans on going fishing again when she gets better.
It's hard to believe how strong she has been. I don't think I would be strong enough to go through the pain and all the throwing up she has been through not to mention the surgeries and the 2 strokes she had fighting this god forsaken lung and spine cancer that she has this past year and a half.
Guys don't put off doing anything. Do everything you can while you still can and enjoy life.
Received my front sight tool bought off a of Amazon, adjusted the front sight on the new to me Rex Arex Zero Sig 226 copy and headed out back to my range. Shot 100rds of 9mm through the pistol nailing my 25yd gong. The DA pull is heavy and take a little getting used to. SA trigger is just fine and I had no problems hitting my gongs.
Going Thurs to fire off some 300
