HE SURE IS !!!
Are you hunting him?
When they get that age,you almost never see them during daylight around here.
Gnarly!
That's a brute.
Anyone else do this? When I see a picture of a deer the first thing I do is look at shot placement. Habit i guess.
That thing has been in the corn pile
no just sharing a picture I saw on the internet
I think he is a St.Francis river buck in Southeast Missouri though
lots of good eating in the crop lands on both sides of the river
+1.....
Good breeding stock, be a shame to kill him.
His neck is thick * he is in rut. He is op top right now, next year maybe not.
his seed is already spread.
They dont come much better!
Name him "El Jefe", he has got to be the boss around there!
a "unique" buck for sure, worthy of hanging on the wall. and lots of meat if prepped correctly, farm country bucks can be quite tasty. however, for the people keeping tally on a possible record book deer, this brute will not score that well. lots of differences to deduct from that magical 180 inch plateau. length of beam, left beam is spread out wide compared to left, length of brow tines, length of all other points differ greatly points. scores poor, but looks impressive. in texas that buck would be a cull and would have been shot 2 years previously for showing those genetic traits.
Oh man, that does get one to itching!!
I have 3 racks mounted in my basement office but nothing like that!
Yea, and I didn't apply for any tags. 😙 My son's FIRST deer was about that size and I told him I don't know where you go from there.
do they even have that size deer in Texas? not rack but body-sized?
Sure. They've been importing northern deer for eons in France. (That's a long time)
It will score well. Most people would be surprised what scores are. A lot of my friends have taken mounts in to be scored and and been surprised. I never did it because, one I don't have mounts and two I don't care. I have lots of antlers and a few skulls with the antlers but I've never had one trophy mounted. There is gross score and net score. Yes on this buck the gross score will be higher than the net score and there are lots of deer with heavier racks. But he is a main frame 5x5 and all ten points are going to measure.
As for Texas I've seen some boys, actually most of them, in Texas have a lot smaller than that with lower scores and been tickled. I know they breed for racks, good thing as most of their deer aren't any bigger than a German Shepard.
You only deduct down to the shortest of the two. Two time this bucks shortest is still going to score well. Especially with two extra tines to score.
forgemonkey did you see this picture
since you were gone I thought you might have missed it
No...........we don't.
thank you
I didn't think so
