Getting my weight down

Ha
True!
I read a report the other day that stated, with few exceptions, we should all weigh what we weighed at 21. I was too busy partying to even pay any attention to what I weighed. I'm quite sure it was at least 50 lbs less than I weigh now.
When I was diagnosed with diabetes, I weighed 213 lbs. My A1C was 14,5. I took a diabetes class at the local hospital. What really got my attention was a chart on the wall depicting the A1C levels and the consequences of that level. The chart only went up to 12. I decided to make the necessary changes to trim down with diet and exercise. I slowly got my weight under control and reached 148 lbs. I weighed 150 when I graduated from high school, and now I've ballooned up to 159. 😮
The changes I've made have reduced my A1C to 5.8, my blood pressure is down to the 120's/mid 60's. I feel better and my cardiologist only wants to see me once a year instead of twice a year, I still walk 2 miles a day and work out on my weight machine.
The hardest part is getting up from the recliner, and actually doing what you need to. Once you set a goal and realize you can attain that goal it gets easier, and you'll feel a lot better.

I'm down 60 lbs since March.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
You ROCK man!!!! Loosing weight is so simple but so hard to do.
Wow! How’d you do it?
It started with the 75 Hard program challenge and then it was just consistency with diet and exercise, mostly according to the same plan outlined in the challenge.

...I'm 10 pounds heavier than I was in the 9th grade...6' even and Ive weighed 165 to 175 pounds since I was 18...soooo glad I don't have to "watch" what I eat because of my weight...I eat, drink anything I want...I cant even imagine having to pick & choose what, and when I ate...what a pain
When I was 21 I was a nationally ranked racquetball player and spent 3-4 hours at practice every day.
Ain't no way in heck I'll ever weigh that again.
So my daughter got me a tshirt that says across the front "I BEAT ANOREXIA"
Much better solution.
It's even worse than what I said earlier. I also have to count carbs and sodium. No more than 65 carbs per meal and no more than 2000 mg of sodium a day. We keep a daily ledger of my diet and have many years of ledgers. It can be a huge pain in the butt, but I'm worth it.😁

Remember, a waist is a terrible thing to mind.
...Good Lord Bubba, sorry to hear that...you're right, having to watch all that would fog my brain...I cant even imagine math and paperwork being involved every time I ate anything(!)...I suppose 2000 mg of salt is a small amount...sodium is in almost everything, so I guess grabbing the salt shaker is a no-no...luck and stay healthy!...
I'll never make it to 6 1/2# but if the trend continues, I'm going to be close to my high school weight of 125# sooner than I want. My adult weight varied from 165-180# from age 25 to 65 but has been dropping since then. Now my belly button is rubbing on my backbone, my jeans fall down if I unbuckle my belt, and my shirts hang on me like a drop cloth.
Losing muscle mass and almost zero body fat makes for tough times when the weather gets cold.
