auction question...

Going to be listing a Winchester model 88 in 308 when I get a chance. I have the original factory magazine, along with 2 model 100 magazines. I see a model 100 magazine on the auction side for $60 plus shipping with no bids. Do you think that including the extra magazines would add enough to the auction to make it worth it, or should I sell them separately? TIA.

Sell separately. This one sold for $80.00 plus shipping.

Id sell separately. Dont think Model 100 mags do much when listing with a Model 88?
List them separate
They are the same thing, except the stamping...
When I had Locust Fork sell several firearms for me I asked her if I should include extra magazines? LF flat out said that extra magazines seldom increase the bid amounts enough to make including them worthwhile.
The lady knows her business. I kept the extra mags.
I would generally agree with that statement Mark, but since it is a hunting rifle I wasn't quite sure if it would help the auction, or hurt me some...
"They are the same thing, except the stamping..."................no they aren't. the m-100 has a 'hold open' feature, the m-88 dosen't. either will work with either gun thou
Well I am no expert but I can tell you that I almost always separate scopes from rifles, especially if the scopes are expensive ones. The same with extra mags usually. Most folks when they buy a gun see extras like holsters or mags as just that, extras that go with the gun and don't believe the price should reflect an increase because of it. Just my experience. Either way, Good Luck!!
Im not allowed to disagree any more Toad, but they arent the same. I have two model 100s and two model 88s and they are not the same. One of the model 88s is new in the box, so Im anxious to see how yours does, when are you going to list it?
I sold a very nice model 88 carbine back in July on the auction side. It was used but a good 98% gun. I started it at one penny and she sold for $1650.00. Oh, it was a .308.
Good luck with the auction
Those are nice lever actions. I look forward to the listing.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Gun accessories such as clips, magazines, scopes, and such are like chrome on a Harley.
Ain't worth much to increase value.
My thing about extras is that if they are worth money....people will pay for it, but if you toss extras in with an item someone is shopping for they hardly EVER pay the extra money for the included items.
A rifle worth $600 will sell for $600 if you do the auction right.....but a $600 rifle with $100 in extras will sell for $600 no matter what magic you use. Most people shopping for an item look to spend what it is worth and think of the extras as "nice if I get it" but aren't going to pay extra to get it.
What I would do......List the gun by itself........ List the mags in a separate auction....running at the same time. Put in each auction reference to the other auction. "This rifle has extra mags listed that can ship for free if you win both auctions." Something like that.
