My oldest son's wife, who has been battling stage 4 brain and lymphoid cancer this year with chemo and proton therapy, is in remission and feeling better. Her hair has commenced growing back also. Mark, my son, is aware that in about 85% of the cases like this that the cancer will return sometime in the future but right now things are good and she is feeling much better.
I would give anything if June could have had the same luck with her battle with cancer but it was not to be. It has been almost a month now since she passed away and I'm still living in the ole city of doom and gloom.

Good news is ALWAYS welcome. You still have people you love, and who love you in return. Doom and gloom will pass. Right now you have reason to celebrate. Take it when you can get it. Those around you need you as much as ever, maybe more. They lost Miss June too.
Good news indeed. And you hang in there.
good news for sure . hope all continues going well
A ray of sunshine. Embrace the warmth.
I like good news.
How are you doing?
Outstanding. This is great news! Take your victories where you find them, ALL of them.
Now here's my favorite poem, and I don't share personal stuff like this with just anyone. Read it SLOWLY and think about the meaning behind every sentence.
Comfort -Robert Service
Say! You've struck a heap of trouble,
Bust in business, lost your wife;
No one cares a cent about you,
You don't care a cent for life;
Hard luck has of hope bereft you,
Health is failing, wish you'd die --
Why, you've still the sunshine left you
And the big, blue sky.
Sky so blue it makes you wonder
If it's heaven shining through;
Earth so smiling 'way out yonder,
Sun so bright it dazzles you;
Birds a-singing, flowers a-flinging
All their fragrance on the breeze;
Dancing shadows, green, still meadows --
Don't you mope, you've still got these.
These, and none can take them from you;
These, and none can weigh their worth.
What! you're tired and broke and beaten? --
Why, you're rich -- you've got the earth!
Yes, if you're a tramp in tatters,
While the blue sky bends above
You've got nearly all that matters --
You've got God, and God is love.
Good to hear any good days are a bonus when fighting cancer, Hang in there Greg
My condolences for the loss of your wife, you have been a great fighter. Prayers for continued health for all.
Glad to hear you are having a little sunshine in your life! Hang in there Smitty!
Seen people live many years in remission. Hope she is one of them.
Smitty, please hang in there. More prayers for you and your family.--------Ray

I'm supposed to see the heart doctor again in the morning and then I'm supposed to be in Atlanta in a couple of weeks where they're supposed to do the "chronic total occlusion stent" on one of the main arteries in my heart they call the Widowmaker Artery.
The test showed that it was 100% blocked and somehow my body rerouted the blood around the blockage. I guess that explains why I've been so tired the past couple years. I thought it was because I was up every 2 hours at night taking care of June was the reason I was dead tired. I guess it was a combination of both.
it's natures way. The older we get the more vascular routes our body grows. While there are a lot of variables and no absolutes, the increased vascular paths give an older man a better chance of surviving a cardiac occlusion than a younger man. Again there are many variables and some weigh in the favor of the younger man.
It is good news that they found the issue. Good luck on your upcoming stent insert. Both of my brothers had them and they have not had any problems after they had them done.
That is good news, hoping your luck starts to follow that of your son and DIL!
