Questions for those of you living in Oregon??

dreherdreher Member Posts: 8,886 ✭✭✭✭

My wife asked me if I knew how bad the rioting/looting damage was in Portland. I told her I didn't know but I would Google it. Learned a whole lot of nothing. It appears that the lame stream media isn't very interested in negativity where the leftist/commie/idiots are concerned.

So those of you in that area, what is really going on?? How badly is Portland damaged??

According to the media and the DEMOCRATs Portland is one big love-in. Same with Seattle and their "Summer of Love"

    Just the status quo there.

I live about 30 miles west of the poop hole, and really don't give a crap what goes on there. The only thing that I have to do with the town is drive thru it on my way to a better place.

The really bad part is that most of the PNW States have one or two large towns that control what goes on in the entire State, and the stench that happens there has a habit of making all the rest of Oregonians smell the same way. People see what is going on there by the way of the F'd up media, and stereotype all the other's from Oregon that live here.

Wife and I are looking to relocate to another State, and depending on where we are going, we have rented a vehicle with plates other than Oregon.

I grew up here 55 years ago, and it really was a special place, it still is, just for a whole different reason though....As Neoblackdog put it, hopefully in a few months it will be Oregone!

All I can do is echo what Todd said above. The metro areas are insane. If you look at Oregon's land mass, 98% of it is sane, that 2% though, hoo doggies!, them folks are full blown bat crap crazy and seem to take pride in it. Thank God my wife and I were able to escape!

We have neighbors that move over there about two years ago although not Portland. She had been running on line nursing classes for quite some time but missed the face to face with the students. She was hired to run a nursing program for one of the state schools. She found out early on just how "political" the job was. Things became quite stressful and when she was handed a sheet of about 200 gender pronouns to use, it was the final straw. They sold out and are back here in "normalsville".

    Welcome home!!

Sounds very familiar. Colorado is the same way. It used to be a very nice place until all the liberals moved in from the east coast, CA, IL, etc. Now it everything is controlled by the urban areas on the front range from Ft. Collins to Colorado Springs. The rest of us have no say in anything.

Truth be told, every state suffers from that situation to some extent.

Same way in Virginia. The area around DC & a few cities are like the tail wagging the dog.

The riot area isn’t the whole city. It’s downtown near the courthouse and has pretty much been confined to that area . It’s not spilling over into neighborhoods (not yet anyway).

I've been through the area not long ago. There are many places in shambles: burnt down, broken windows, crumbling, etc. The tent cities of the homeless are huge, all of which you can see from the highways. There is graffiti absolutely everywhere. Mind you this city, just a few years back was very beautiful. It's a dumpster now. I wouldn't go into it unless at gun point.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain
