Son and Grandson just stopped by, Grandson smiling so big it would take an undertaker 3 days to wipe off. he had to show off his 1st deer, on his 1st year of hunting. used a .223 i had set up 3x9 illuminated scope, 77gr Winchester soft tip ammo and bipod. under 100 yard shot broadside with slight down angle. son took his buck with a new gun i bought for him 6.5 creedmore. he put a Vortex 4-16 scope on it. 200 yard shot. not sure what bullet he used, both deer were DRT they said, altho about 30 minutes apart today. Grandpa is mighty proud.

The smiles say it all.

Good deal. Look at that boy smile. Pretty country too.
Good to see the young ones enjoying the outdoors and keeping the hunting tradition going
And my friends that is the way it should be. Spend great quality time with your kids.
Good shootnig and experience for both.
Good for them
i wish i could spend a day afield with them, but alas the wheels won't roll anymore. so now i am just the armorer and advisor. so far, grandson has received a 20 ga pump shotgun, a .223 ar-15, a 7,62x39 Ar-15, a .308 Ar-10, a winchester clone 45colt lever action, and a 22lr Henry Golden Boy rifle. a Rem 1100 is in the gun case just waiting for its proper time. and a mountain of various caliber ammo to go with all those shootin irons

Indeed. Beautiful country.
Congratulations!! The look on your grandsons face reminds me of the look on my sons face when Uri got his first deer. Special times indeed!! Not to mention great memories for three generations of your family!!
How would you like to have a 73 year old Grandson? 😁
Joe
Yes please adopt me too! All kidding aside they both did good, proud moments for you and them!
ETA: fixed typo on the word proud...
i did not mention all the guns of mine i got after my fathers passing, and those that i have acquired on my own. those will go to my only child when i croak. all are shooters, for various game, no collector quality. and a really big mountain of ammo. probably more than some central america dictatorships. hehehehehhe
Looks like a great day with memories that will last a life time !!!!!! Congratulations to both of them
