Complete laparoscopic rotator cuff repair with a nerve block that's supposed to last up to 48 hours. Said a prayer that it does.
Took about 1.5 hours in surgery and 30 minutes waking up and thawing out. Internal temp was 95. Normal is about 97. Home watching football and drinking a nicely aged H20, never bottled, straight from God's earth.
Warming some frozen peas with my shoulder. Told the kids that when I got home I discovered I was a lefty. 😆

Take care and listen to what the docs tell you. Do the physical therapy just like they say to . Little short term pain leads to a better recovery.
Hope it works out for you. I've talked to a couple of folks who had rotator cuff surgery and after 4-5 years were right back where they'd been pre-surgery. I'm not going to waste time on such foolishness. Can barely lift my coffee cup at this time and may end up getting another shot before winter's done but don't have any confidence in surgery success.
get well soon
Now that's some high quality H2O.
Behave, and follow doctor's orders.

I had a nerve block in the arm a few months back and it did last for 48 hours. Isn't that weird, to look at your arm, no feeling there, can't wiggle your fingers, can't even raise your arm, it is like somebody tied a 3 foot long oak branch onto your shoulder.
Get well soon Susie.
I had shoulder problems & after physical therapy I had 95% mobility. Dr. admitted that he was niffed that I refused to let him operate. At my age, 95% was good enough & as I got older, there's no difference between shoulders.
Take care, heal, live, be happy.
Here's to a complete recovery as I lift my heated and flavored H2O this morning to you!
I've been through that also. Therapy made recovery painful but necessary. I had limited mobility, but now I'm at about 95%.
You'll do fine, you just need to take it easy for a while after you get back from your therapy sessions. Ice and whiskey in moderation will be your new best friends. 😉

What is this 'moderation' you speak of?
Hope you heal up quickly, Susie! Are the kiddos around to help out?
Do yourself a favor and get a home electronic pulse massager. I use a Prospera PL009 for my old rotator cuff injury - and anywhere else I have joint issues. Almost magic. Order some replacement adhesive pads while you're at it; you can use a pair several times, but the adhesive does wear out quickly.

Susie another thing that will help is a therapy pully setup. Attach the pulley in a door frame, sit on a chair under it. These have a handle on each end, and you pull down on one side as far as you can, hold it for a while, then repeat the process for the other side. This will help your verticle reach.
This should be available from your therapy center.
Good Luck, Joe
Was using that while going through PT before surgery. At the moment the arm can't go above my waist. It must stay in the sling until my follow-up in 2 weeks unless doing the at home exercise. I was instructed to take it out occasionally to do pendulum swings in a circular motion as the only therapy for the next two weeks.
