A Date Which DIED In Infamy

My informal poll of about 30 younger (than me) people yesterday could not tell me why flags were flown at half mast. over government buildings. Most were unfamiliar with the phrase Pearl Harbor Day.

At least half didn't know where Pearl Harbor is located !

Creepy Joe, emerged from his basement and visited the WWII memorial > nothing on TV.

VA Pilot - no mention on the front page ... had to go back to the seldom viewed Editorial Page.

Local and national TV news - no mention or a quick gloss over.

"Yesterday, December 7, 1941— a date which will live in infamy" - FDR ... was wrong

None knew this was part of FDR's address to congress on December 8,1941 asking them to declare a state of war with Japan !

Tis a sad when the prime demographic has no knowledge or interest in this important date !

I asked the youngest people - they said it was no longer part of the HS or college History curriculum.

....... Sad State of Affairs !  It was like one of those inane reality TV shows !

C'est la vie !!! ............................................

It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books
